Clarence Earl Winter July 26, 1937 ~ January 12, 2020

Arnold, CA...Clarence Winter, 82 years of age, passed away peacefully on January 12th, 2020 at St Joseph’s Hospital. Clarence was born on July 26th, 1937 in Watsonville, California to Bessie Watson and Royce Winter. He grew up in Visalia, California and was a graduate of Mount Whitney High School. Clarence was survived by his wife of 61 ½ years , LaDon Winter. They met when they were 17 years old and built a beautiful life together. Clarence worked over 30 years in the Local 3 Operators Union. He helped develop the bay area on the light rail system in San Jose, CA. He was also in charge of the freeway bypass from San Jose to Gilroy and built the California aqueduct to get water from Northern California to Southern California among his many accomplishments.

However to Clarence, his biggest accomplishment was his family. He was preceded in death by his son , Ron Winter and survived by his son Greg Winter (DeAnn Winter) and daughter, Dianna Flanagan ( Bobby Flanagan). He was preceded in death by his brother Gary Wise and survived by his brother Lawrence Winter. He was an amazing grandfather to his 8 grandchildren, Gregory, Jeramy, Joshua, Brandon, Tiana, Travis, Amanda and Kyle. He was also survived by 22 Great-Grandkids!

Clarence also enjoyed deer hunting, water skiing ,watching sports and taking his wife around the country in their motorhome. He was an avid gun collector and member of the NRA. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. There will be a celebration of life for Clarence on February 1st at 12pm at the Grace Church of Lockford .
