Calaveras County Democrats Hold Successful 'Build a Better Future for Calaveras County' Fundraiser
San Andreas CA…Over 100 Democrats attended the Build a Better Future for Calaveras County fundraiser last Sunday, April 27th at 4:30 p.m. at the Native Sons Hall in Murphys, marking the first opportunity for Calaveras County Democrats to join Democrats from all over California who are making history this election season. .....
Guest speakers highlighted economic and social issues before Calaveras County and shared their thoughts on how a strong Democratic presence, along with community leaders and residents, can help bring about resolution to these issues. Patricia Guttmann, Chair of the Calaveras County Democratic Central Committee, spoke to the committee's mission to elect Democrats both locally and nationally.
Guests enjoyed a scrumptious Mexican dinner catered by Firewood, located at 420 Main St. in Murphys, and networked with fellow Democrats. Guests built their own taco dinners and ice cream sundaes in keeping with the evening's theme.
M.A.C.T. Health Care Board, Inc. received special recognition and a donation from the committee. M.A.C.T. is a low-cost health service provider in Calaveras County. The contribution was raised through donations made at the Democratic Central Committee's very successful county-wide health care forum program. Communities scheduled for future health care forums are Copperopolis, Mokelumne Hill, Angels Camp, Arnold, and Mountain Ranch. More information about M.A.C.T. is available by visiting www.macthealthboard.com.
