Victoria Marquina, 17 from Sutter Creek, Has Run Away & May Be At Risk

Sutter Creek, CA...On October 10, 2019 around 1140 hours, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a runaway 17 year old female named Victoria Marquina. A deputy responded and met with the Victoria’s mother in Sutter Creek. The mother informed the deputy her daughter failed to come home on Saturday October 5, 2019 after attending a concert in Sacramento. The mother was unable to contact her by phone the following day but later found her daughter’s vehicle parked near Main Street in Sutter Creek. The mother waited near the vehicle and eventually confronted her daughter about not coming home. The mother and daughter argued, with the daughter eventually leaving and telling her mother she was moving out. The mother stated she has called and sent her daughter several messages since Sunday October 6, 2019 and her daughter has not responded.

The mother provided contact information for a few of her friends and advised the deputy her daughter had recently met an unknown male from Modesto.

The deputy was able to identify the unknown male as 21 year old Joshua Martinez with an address in Livingston, CA. The deputy was also able to confirm Victoria had attended her college class in Sacramento on October 8, 2019. We attempted to locate Victoria through her cellular phone and learned it was last located in San Joaquin County on October 9, 2019 but has since been turned off. Victoria has been entered into the Missing/Unidentified Persons data base as a Runaway Juvenile At-Risk.

Amador County Sheriff’s Office Investigators took over the case and eventually made contact with Joshua and his family. Joshua admitted to seeing Victoria and dropping her off in Sutter Creek on the morning of October 6, 2019. Joshua stated that was the last time he has seen Victoria. A search of his residence for Victoria meet with negative results.

On October 13, 2019 the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office located Victoria’s black Honda Accord abandon in Escalon. San Joaquin County Deputies contacted an eye witness who gave a description of a car and young Hispanic couple matching the description of both Victoria, Joshua, including his vehicle. The vehicle was later towed to the Amador County Sheriff’s Office for safekeeping.

Joshua has not reported to work since October 11, 2019.

The Amador County Sheriff’s Office currently believes Victoria is a Runaway Juvenile At-Risk. It is believed she is in the company of Joshua Martinez who is driving a red 2015 Infinity Q50 sedan, License plate 8MEA023. Joshua’s vehicle has been entered into the Department Of Justice database as being associated with a missing person. Their whereabouts are unknown and this is still an active on-going investigation.

We are currently working with the Livingston Police Department and the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation.

If you have any information or see Joshua or Victoria, please notify the Amador County Sheriff’s Office or your local law enforcement agency.
