Delay in PSPS Shutoffs for Parts of Calaveras & Tuolumne Counties

Arnold, CA..This morning PG&E shut off power to 513,000 customers as part of the first phase of this Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS). Those customers are currently out of power in the following counties: Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Solano, Sonoma, Tehama, Trinity, Yolo and Yuba.

Approximately 21,000 customers in Calaveras County and 800 customers in Mendocino County were not part of the first phase and will be turned off during the second phase coming later today. Shutoffs for the second phase of counties, initially scheduled to start around noon on Wednesday, have been delayed by a few hours, given changes to the weather forecast. Those counties include: Alameda, Alpine, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Mariposa, Mendocino, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Stanislaus and Tuolumne.

We understand the impact turning off the power for safety has on our customers and we don’t take this action lightly. We thank our customers for having patience as we get through this weather event. We encourage impacted customers to visit a Community Resource Center in their area to recharge electric devices, get some water and use the restrooms. Also make sure to check out www.safetyactioncenter.pge.com for more information about how to get through these outages.

Here is my weather event occurring today according to the national weather service, light wind not forecast to be over 9 mph at the highest, maybe a gust of wind up to 20 mph around 9 PM with the humidity increasing, just another day in paradise. So what really constitutes turning off our power when the real wind is on the west side of the valley not here......

You should listen to NOAA. I'm sure 😊 I have an alternate power supply. It sure pays to invest in ones home, doesn't it? Oh wait, I'm sorry to rub salt in that gash of yours.

Went on both the National Weather Service and weather.com, none are forecasting high winds or anything that remotely calls for a power shutoff....

No high wind forecast around here from any of the websites I reviewed. Most of it is north of 80 and west of the valley ! What's up with this ?

Also have a whole home generator. It's the principal ! I get the idea but pge has to do a better job. We'll probably be on generator until Saturday. Feel bad for those totally without.

The National Weather Service has issued red flag warnings and fire weather watches for areas of northern, central and southern California. This will likely be the strongest offshore wind event so far this season.

Maybe you didn't know that 80% of the people that lost homes in the fires were trying to get out of this county the fires gave them not only the money but a push to follow their dreams and get out of this god forsaken SH_T HOLE only less than 10% rebuilt!Yes like most of you how could one sell and even think about a place you could afford with the money you would if you could sell in this county??
