Angels Camp, CA…. Earth Day is a Birthday!! Just like a persons birthday, it is a special day to celebrate life! Earth Day is intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment. Earth Day was born on April 22, 1970, in San Francisco, California. Celebrated environmental event worldwide. On Earth Day, we remember to appreciate nature and learn ways to protect our environment. We also find new ways that help keep the planet clean and help protect our environment. Today; Angels Camp celebrated Earth Day early to promote earth awareness.
The celebration theme was "Planning for the Future". The event was from 11 am-6 pm in the Utica Park in Downtown Angels Camp. The day was full of information booths, belly dancers. Music by: Clan Dyken, The Business, Thick Soup and Marilyn Schrouff and wonderful food by: Aimee's Kitchen. There was also a large orange labyrinth set up on the grass for friends and families. The “bag lady” that symbolized recycling was a big hit to all visitors.
The national Earth Day is in two days, so mark your calendars and think of something creative to help mother earth.
