60 Year Old Dan Tzur from Menlo Park Lost His Life in Hwy 4 Collision Yesterday

Angels Camp, CA...Dan Tzur, 60 from Menlo Park was driving a 2002 Ford Mustang, southbound within a private driveway, north of SR-4, and preparing to enter eastbound SR-4. Steele was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, westbound on SR-4, at an undetermined speed, and approaching Tzur's location.

For reasons still under investigation, Tzur unsafely entered SR-4 directly in the path of the approaching Camero. The front of the Chevrolet collided with the left side of the Ford within the westbound lane of SR-4. The collision caused the Ford to spin out of control and leave the roadway on the south side, and the Chevrolet came to rest within the westbound lane.

Both Parties in the Camero were transported to Modesto Memorial Hospital for moderate to major injuries. Dan Tzur sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to have been a factor in this collision. This collision is still under investigation.

Our Prayers are with the deceased's family and friends, the other injured parties & the first responders and law enforcement that had to work this incident.

Time to edit out all the profane and degrading comments made.

John, Can you please moderate so this remains a civil forum for discussion?

    You are NOT a snowflake....
    You are NOT deplorable....
    .......etc. etc.

You, in reality, are not a true Republican or Democrat.
You have opinions and positions that sometimes encompass both platforms.

    You ARE an American!

The moment you associate with "taking a side", or, using "labels" with the negativity - the "dividers" win.

Maintain your identity of being an American first with your own personal values and opinions.

" I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"...... This was a statement that was associated with freedom of speech - in America.
    Let's not forget that....

Something NEEDS to be said to begin the HEALING in this massive confusion.

With sincere condolences-

(Please, if you are the grieving family of the gentleman who died, don’t pay any attention to the thoughtless trolls who act out on some threads.)

We are a loving and generous community here in Calaveras County. We live in one of the most glorious and peaceful places on earth. We are so incredibly lucky, and we never forget it. We welcome visitors and new “transplants” alike with open arms, and we are thrilled to share the beauties of the foothills, valleys, and Sierra peaks that make up our piece of heaven on earth.

Driving ANYWHERE in this world can be a challenge, and sometimes downright dangerous. No human being can account for every action they make behind the wheel of a car-we ARE only human. Terrible things happen every day, and we grieve alongside our neighbors when someone is lost.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your whole family and extended friends must all be in shock, and filled with terrible sadness and grief. Please know that the citizens of our small county wish you well, no matter who you are or where you come from. May your irreplaceable loved one rest peacefully.

Thank you for your thoughtful words. Although in the minority on this site it shows the real character of the county!
