When the parking lot is full (every weekend) people just keep coming. I've seen cars parked with two tires fully on roadway and you have to swerve to miss them. How about either making additional parking or making that area no parking for public safety. Surprised more people haven't been killed along that stretch.

The Bureau of Land reclamation owns it. As far as I can see, they’re responsible for the destruction caused by the inundation of tourists. BLR has done absolutely nothing to deal with the illegal parking, or the trash and vandalism left by the visitors.

If this is really bothering everyone, start filing complaints against BLR and Caltrans.
They could easily put up no parking signs on BLR land and hire someone to patrol the site to keep visitors from trashing it. Caltrans should have put up no parking signs on Parrotts Ferry years ago. No parking signs with a fine warning on them, two miles in both directions, would stop all the problems. None of those people want to walk that far.
No one should be parking on that highway. I’ve seen idiots standing in the middle of the highway talking. I’ve seen children dart away from their dips*it parents in front of oncoming traffic, and I’ve seen many cars parked partially on the road.
        This had to stop.

Parrots Ferry rd is a county road not a state hwy. Call elected stupidvisor. Probably to worried about padding pockets push to again have legalization of marijuana grows.

This is a BLR problem. They have plenty of time to police the lake, campsites and used and unused access roads. They can get off their asses and deal with Natural Bridges.
It’s a fatal accident waiting to happen.

You can look at the regulations at usbr.gov
Glancing through it quickly, it’s pretty clear BLR isn’t following any of the land use regulations pertaining to Natural Bridges, both with the excessive use and illegal parking, and, the destruction of vegetation and wildlife.
They’re not policing maintaining the area at all.
If they were, they’d see the excessive foot traffic has ruined the trail, and that a lot of the visitors are leaving their garbage all over the ground, by, and in the water, and in the cave and cave walls .
                It’s a travesty.
Anyone know who we’d contact to make a formal complaint?
I know the tourism is going to dry up for winter, but they’ll be back just as bad once March or April rolls around.
