(All Chickens Adopted in Under an Hour!!) Something to Crow About! Chicken Adoption Event

Angels Camp, CA...Something to Crow About! There will be a Chicken Adoption Event at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds this Friday & Saturday, September 13th & 14th From 10 am to 2 pm. Over 100 hens & young chickens of various ages available $2.50 each or $5.00 per pair; cash only Bring your own carriers or crates

The Calaveras County fairgrounds is housing 156 roosters, hens and chicks after an illegal marijuana grow was raided by the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office on August 28th in Copperopolis. Calaveras County Animal Services assisted by fairgrounds staff, Sheriff’s Office volunteers and Calaveras County Code Compliance worked from morning until past midnight to rescue the birds and transport them safely to the fairgrounds.

The roosters are sadly not available but many healthy, beautiful hens and chicks are in need of homes and ready for adoption now.

Please help!
Questions? Please call Animal Services at 754-6509

Event occurs on 09/13/2019 from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM.

How has this story gotten this far without any choking chicken comments?

Oh, there have been many on other sites. It reminds me of the Little Red Hen story. All those willing to proffer their opinions without offers of help. Still, the community came through.

Sold to an egg farmer in the valley. Nothing to do with our county, just a person who saw an opportunity for $$$ All the rosters killed A bad thing.

I know that they have been using granulated garlic in the recipe but it is so hard to find in your local store. My friend told me about this online spice market from where I can get it.
