Allie Cat is the Calaveras County Animal Services Shelter Pet of the Week

San Andreas, CA...Meet Allie, a gorgeous longhaired dilute tortie. This affectionate beauty has a calm, quiet demeanor and keeps her cage clean and tidy. Allie is the kind of cat who will find a favorite comfy spot on your bed or couch and consider it her own. Her most favorite place, however, will likely be your lap. When volunteers sit alongside her, Allie makes a beeline for theirs, curls up and softly purrs. Her lovely coat will need regular brushing - something she very much enjoys - though it sheds surprisingly little. About ten years of age and in excellent health, Allie has no trouble jumping from the floor to platforms several feet high. Although brought to the shelter as a neighborhood stray, it’s also clear that Allie was once someone’s kitty. Her ideal home would be a quiet household with someone willing to share both their heart and home with this exceptionally sweet girl.

As with all cats available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Allie is up-to-date on her routine vaccinations and has been micro-chipped. Since she is already spayed, she can go home with you today!

Come visit Allie, impound no. AO49979, and other cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). For more information about this kitty, please email Animal Services volunteer Cynthia at clpino@caltel.com, Kathy at kbandy.co.calaveras.ca.us or call Animal Services directly at 754-6509. Please refer to Allie’s impound number when making inquiries. Adoptable animals may also be viewed on the web at http://animal.calaverasgov.us/Adoptions and on the Calaveras County Animal Services Facebook page.

Thank you, John, and the Pine Tree for helping so many shelter animals find new homes.

Wait a minute that cat was seen robbing Winkler's Grocery Store in San Andreas in 1968. The store is gone but the cat is still alive? How can that be? Seven generations later....be careful that cat is nothing but trouble, serious trouble. Please don't tell me it was hanging out around the Sierra Hills Grocery in Murphys?

Go have another beer, grandpa, and let the good people finding homes for these animals versus having them euthanized be.

Only in Calaveras would 1968 mean seven generations, lol.

Point taken. In which case, more like 144. Still, I hope someone out there can take in such a beautiful cat.

Your going to need a dust mop when that cat starts to shed.

And you need to work on your reading comprehension... the article clearly states she sheds very little.
