Non Farm Employment Numbers Revised Down by -501,000

Washington, DC...In accordance with usual practice, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is announcing the preliminary estimate of the upcoming annual benchmark revision to the establishment survey employment series. The final benchmark revision will be issued in February 2020 with the publication of the January 2020 Employment Situation news release.

Each year, the Current Employment Statistics (CES) survey employment estimates are benchmarked to comprehensive counts of employment for the month of March. These counts are derived from state unemployment insurance (UI) tax records that nearly all employers are required to file. For national CES employment series, the annual benchmark revisions over the last 10 years have averaged plus or minus two-tenths of one percent of total nonfarm employment. The preliminary estimate of the benchmark revision indicates a downward adjustment to March 2019 total nonfarm employment of -501,000 (-0.3 percent).

Preliminary benchmark revisions are calculated only for the month of March 2019 for the major industry sectors in table 1. The existing employment series are not updated with the release of the preliminary benchmark estimate. The data for all CES series will be updated when the final benchmark revision is issued.

Table 1 shows the March 2019 preliminary benchmark revisions by major industry sector. As is typically the case, many of the individual industry series show larger percentage revisions than the total nonfarm series, primarily because statistical sampling error is greater at more detailed levels than at an aggregated level.

An uncomfortable reminder for our fearless leader that reality has a funny way of catching up.

The average 223,000 monthly increase in employment in 2018 — the strongest in three years — could be trimmed to 180,000 to 185,000, economists estimate

Hiring doesn’t appear to have gotten big boost from Trump tax cuts
Turns out hiring wasn’t nearly as strong in 2018 and early 2019 as the government initially reported — by about a half-million jobs.

Companies (and CEOs) collected those tax cuts directly, decreasing their bottom line. They did not hire more in this country. If anything, they did more so in southeast Asia.

Either way you look at it unemployment is lower then the last 8 year's of the previous administration or better yet, the last 40 plus years. The GPD twice as high as the last 8 years of the previous administration. All of this with the democrats not doing anything significant to HELP. All their concentration has been focused on anyway to legally and illegally to over throw Trump's Administration. The guy is a prick but he, unlike the democrats is try to keep Americans safe here and abroad, and keep our country strong. So from a 1 to 10 rating, 10 being the highest, I'll give this Admin. a 7.
Obama a 5, his being lower because of Iran, North Korea, and (look it up) had actually released illegal immigrant children to sex traffickers, doing zilch about Hillary Clinton's private phone AND as Secretary of State, the fake COLLUSION and not doing anything about Russia's hacking the DNC under his watch, fake Steele dossier. I don't have time for the rest, work time.
Have a wonderful day y'all

You are conveniently forgetting that the GOP did everything they could to block Obama at every turn. Many of the economic programs and policies that Trump is now touting were proposed or put in place by Obama. Do your research.

Two local 16 year olds murder woman
Posted on: 2019-08-22 06:59:19   By: Anonymous

Off subject here.
The two 16 year old boys who killed that woman and torched the house in Columbia have been charged with murder. Seems the woman had been stabbed and hacked, multiple times. If found guilty, I hope they'll be charged as adults and at the very minimum spend decades in prison (since Galvin stopped the death penalty even though we voted to hurry the process) A further autorpsy will tell if she was raped too.
Well I guess some here can't say this was done by Profanity flatlanders.

Condolences to the family and friends of this lady
I doubt this does much but one never knows
May you RIP

Does anyone know if this was some sort of gang initiation? Sounds pretty brutal and similar to gang style stuff. Maybe drug related? These kids in gangs do things like that to gain status in a gang, ergo earn their "hash marks."

Barry never created anything in his 8 yrs. but racial tension, protecting all the black misfits that we're shot by cops committing crimes that they have been taught are okay to do, because their mother's didn't have the time to raise the brood after the sperm donor took off! FACT!

The cons ignore what a F'n mess the economy was in 2008. bush was warned 2 years before that the sub prime mess was coming if he did nothing. As with the 9-11 warnings bush did nothing, we had the 9-11 attacks, and the sub prime recession/depression.
Obama rebuilt the economy , Dump inherited.

The Republicans drive the debt to insane levels, with tax cuts, then Democrats rebuild the economy. It has happened 4x now.

Dump is killing this economy again with tax cuts, and tariffs.
If you believe the lies of Dump, now at 36% approval, you have as serious a mental problem as Dump clearly has.

His rhetoric of the past 4 days shows he is unfit for the office.

The only racism that existed during the Obama years was that created by redneck hicks with IQs lower than 50 who fell further and further behind the broader society. I have absolutely no sympathy for these pathetic losers. The best thing we should offer them is asylum on an island about to be inundated by rising sea levels — let’s at least get something positive out of climate change.
