Two Candidates Running for the Position of Alpine County Superior Court Judge
Alpine County, CA....There are two candidates running for the position of Alpine County Superior Court Judge in the June election, Karen Dustman and David DeVore. Here are partial statements from each. Karen Dustman: "My name is Karen Dustman and I am running for Superior Court Judge of Alpine County. As you've probably heard, Alpine's presiding judge, Richard Specchio openly endorses me. That courageous endorsement alone speaks volumes. But there's more: former presiding Judge, Harold Bradford, the man who presided over Alpine's court with dignity for 12 years, also endorses me. Ask yourself, why the very judges who knows a sitting judge best would endorse his opponent. Both judges' open letter to the community are at www.karendustman.com.....
It takes courage to change the status quo. But I believe Judge Specchio and Judge Bradford are right. It's time for a change."

The other candidate is David DeVore. Here are some words from his statement: "It has has been my privilege to serve as Alpine County Superior Court Judge since 2001. My record reflects that I bring real and meaningful experience, legal knowledge and skills, and high standards of professional conduct to the administration of justice in the Alpine Superior Court. The measure of my qualifications, qualities, and accomplishments at the court is reflected in the support from the many respected judges and other legal professionals who know me and my work-both what I do and how I do it. Those who endorse me include Alpine County Sheriff, John M. Crawford, Lt. Rick Stephens, Deputy Sheriff's Association, and Retired Sheriff's, Lary Kuhl, Skip Veatch, Archie Wood and Stuart Merrill. I am also endorsed by retired Alpine COunty Superior Court Judges, J. Hilary Cook and Tom Kelly, and 22 active and 4 retired judges of our neighboring counties."
