Robert Charles “Bob” Andersen 1934 - 2019

Copperopolis, CA...Robert Charles “Bob” Andersen, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 24th at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. He was born to Ray and Johanna Andersen on May 4th 1934 in Queens, New York. After high school Bob joined the US Navy and served from 1951 to 1955 on the USS Sperry, among other submarine tenders. After discharge he came to Calaveras County where he worked as a general contractor as well as working for Don Fletcher Construction. He retired after 30 years with the carpenters union and went to work as a correctional officer for the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, where he worked for over a decade.

Bob loved his family, enjoyed flying his personal plane in his younger years and his numerous trips to Hawaii in recent years. Bob is survived by his wife Joan Andersen, his son Keith Andersen, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Robert Kirk Andersen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to The Calaveras County Friends of the Sheriff at P.O. Box 1522; Valley Springs, Ca. 95252

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 22nd from 2pm to 5pm at Frogtown.
