Three Marijuana Grow Sites Eradicated in Three Days by CCSO

Mountain Ranch, CA...On July 23, 2019, members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence in the 1000 block of Hubbard Ln, Sheep Ranch. Investigators found an illegal outdoor marijuana growing operation which resulted in the seizure of 890 marijuana plants and 42.09 pounds of processed marijuana. Kyle Kendall (25 years of age from Mountain Ranch) was arrested at a nearby location and booked into the Calaveras County Jail. He was charged with 11358(c) H&S-Illegal Marijuana Cultivation, 11366 H&S-Maintaining a Drug House and 11359 H&S (Possession of Marijuana for Sale). Bail was set at $30,000.00.

On July 24, 2019 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at two properties in the 1000 block of Summit Level Rd, Mountain Ranch. Investigators located outdoor and greenhouse marijuana growing operations which resulted in the seizure of 891 marijuana plants. The suspects were not at the location at the time of the warrant; however, evidence seized from the scene is still being examined and the investigation is ongoing.

On July 25, 2019 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence and property in the 100 block of Railroad Flat Road in Railroad Flat. Investigators located an outdoor marijuana growing operation which resulted in the seizure of 5,225 marijuana plants. This was the third search warrant served at this property in the last three years. In addition to this investigation, deputies had served warrants in 2017 and 2018. The suspects were not at the location at the time of this warrant; however, evidence seized from the scene is still being examined the investigation is ongoing.

These clandestine growing operations were indicative of illicit commercial operations and were not in compliance with any medical or recreational cultivation. It should be noted that the Marijuana Enforcement Team serves numerous search warrants monthly. During these search warrants, evidence is collected which is used to further the case and overall investigation. The mere fact that no persons were contacted or arrested at some of the locations does not imply that the case is complete. For weeks and/or months following a warrant, the investigation into each site continues. In some cases, charges are referred to the District Attorney at a later date pending the results of evidence testing, interviews, or follow up investigations.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information on illegal marijuana cultivation sites or sites manufacturing concentrated cannabis to call the Sheriff’s Marijuana Tip Line at (209) 754-6870.

You can tell the care the grower has for his product.
He's doing brake work right next to the processed pot. Wonder how much asbestos dust contaminated the weed?
    Happy Smoking.......

Asbestos hasn't been used in brakes since the eighties. Where the hell have you been in the past 30 freaking years?

No not 50 years but they did halt productions in the mid eighties. My father was a technician for 58 years and my husband is as well. But they were still of course replacing asbestos brakes in the early 90's. I assume this commenter has lived under a rock for some time.

I believe we just got rid of another doper out of our neighborhood too. Not a grower-just a doper. We don't like folks around here smoking their stuff outside and then the smoke drifts into our apartments! We have a clean building!

Man, the meth industry really appreciates you sheriffs putting all of this effort into eliminating a natural plant. Makes for an easy business, pushing meth these days in Calaveras County!

The scum that keep robbing everyone in Calaveras county appreciate it too! My mail has been stolen twice, my locking gas cap was busted off and my gas taken. Two of my neighbors houses have been robbed. There's stolen abandoned cars all over the forest..so much more crime that needs attention, yet the Calaveras sherriff wants to play war with all his new expensive toys against a plant!!

To BORING: Here's some interesting information. That "plant" is a gateway drug which leads to other drugs such as meth or anything else. It also takes public involvement to report anything suspicious whether it's illegal marijuana business or meth or whatever. If we, as citizens, could become a "united front" and have the courage to speak up when we do witness a suspicious activity, this would make things easier for our LE's (they're really on their toes already) and also making Calaveras County a nice place to live and to raise families-to raise families in peace! Now we don't want our county to turn into another crime-ridden slum do we? Think about it folks and be watchful. Watch out for your neighborhood and your fellow neighbors. We need to get rid of this scourge of illegal drugs! By the way, I understand there are folks out there driving around and selling weed or selling weed out of their houses. That's a no no! Even recreational weed has to be sold by a licensed vendor or dispensary in the state of California and one can't have more than 28.5 grams on their person and have to be 21 years old and over. Only SIX plants per household are allowed and the primary owner/renter also has to be 21 and over. Then there are some property managers/organizations that may not allow pot plants to grow in apartments or houses and of course smoking anything-tobacco or weed is not allowed in any rental unit.

PS By the way besides this toy I'm sure the CCSO also have other crime fighting tools with this war on drugs. The meth freaks are really abundant, but our LE people are doing their best to bust them too and doing this very diligently with dedication. Like I mentioned earlier-get involved and if you don't, well that's your "bad" so keep your traps shut and quit moaning and groaning!

You are an idiot! Gateway drug? Lmfao!!!! Ya'll act like Calaveras was some kind of paradise back in the day. Calaveras has ALWAYS been a known meth and criminal county. People weren't as informed about every little crime like they are now with the internet. Get off the internet and get a life of your own! MYOB!! what you don't know cant hurt you! You don't have a clue any of these farms even exist until the sheriff posts about it!

PS! No I will not keep my trap shut! I don't have to be a grower to know how ridiculous it is to fight something that is becoming just as legit as the wine y'all love. You think that if a person isn't a banner that they they're automatically a grower? Think again! I respect the privacy of others that live in rural communities. We moved AWAY from the city years ago to get away from people that have nothing better in their lives to do but complain about unimportant things that have no effect on them what so ever! I could make a list of things that these people do every day which would make them hypocritical of EVERYTHING they complain about! I don't see meth, theft or heroin in the works of being completely legal any time soon, why not spend all that time you have to waste going after things that could actually harm you and your family 100 times more than this PLANT!!!!!! Because it is here!! It just didn't get uncovered by the fire for all to see. A majority of the growers are harmless good people that would give you the shirt off their backs if you needed it. There's always bad players! They've been here all along, you just didn't have a clue because the sheriff never used to post every single crime. I guess he didn't need that publicity the way this sheriff does. Maybe you should think about keeping YOUR trap shut! Talking about the best medicine in the world to date being a gateway drug, when you probably have a cabinet full of opioid products lmfao!! Opioids are pretty much the last stop before heroin addiction! The hypocritical bs people do and say these days is down right ludacris.

No names of non-elected people? Those non-elected people shouldn't have said false things about others, hidden behind fake names, then start whining when people point them out. If those pro-marijuana people had been truthful all along, there would be far less issues. Sadly they could not/would not be candid. Now we have a supervisor who is pushing for Urgency Ordinance 2.0. Not going to happen without massive lawsuits and her name furthered sullied.

Apartment? Man you need to get a decent job and get out of apartment living. Why give your money to some slum lord and having to put up with everyone else's, noise, habits, odors?
Build on your future, nose to the grind stone, plan for your future, your families future, or are you just another socialist who thinks that something is owed to you because you didn't ask to be born?
You might like the socialist party, but those politicians who promise you the good life? They're just full of *bleep* bro. Do you think they give a damn about you? Do you think they'll give up anything of theirs to you? If so, you're just another uneducated sucker.

Well guess what? The law is the law! If you don't like it maybe you should LEAVE! Yes I have a life and I also believe in not only preserving my own life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, but also others who deserve a better quality of life and their surroundings. Kelly Wooster once mentioned about the "invasive species" and sure enough some of you folks ARE the invasive species. Look what the mess you brought to this county with your get rich schemes thinking you all are going to make the big bucks growing weed here. Then it backfired on you and then you want to get pissed of at me? Fine! Go ahead and kill yourselves smoking that stuff! BTW, I'm no meth head either and I'll have you know I now have 13 years clean time-no booze, no weed-nothing! I don't need it! So as I have said before wake up and smell the roses-if there is still any hope with some of you! Bye!

By the way, I still have all my faculties and cognition all in order! In fact I saw my doctor today and my "machine" is still running young! You know why? I stay healthy since I have been off all that stuff for 13 years AND tobacco free-never felt better in my life! I think all you pot smokers are just jealous since I live a better quality of life than you! So why don't you all get your head out of the sand and face reality! It's a more beautiful world out there when you have your head clear without any foreign substances in you !

Foreign substances are exactly what are found in marijuana grown outdoors. Get a clue. Medical grade marijuana cannot be grown outdoors because it simply cannot pass contamination testing. Don't believe me? Look into it.

Don't call someone out if you can't take the returns. Maybe you should be looking in your own backyard instead of Stephens'.

There are no jobs in this area.... unless you can commute 3-4 hours a day, there is no future here.

Nope. There are lots of jobs here. Are you looking? Are you trying? Are you doing what needs to be done to obtain a job?
