Lois Garman 1953 - 2019. Celebration of Life on July 27th

Arnold, CA...On Thursday, July 4th, 2019, Lois Garman, loving wife and mother of 4 children, passed away peacefully at her home in Arnold, CA after a brave battle with brain cancer. She was 66 years old. Lois was born in Memphis Tennessee on June 7, 1953. She was the oldest of seven children. Her and her family eventually made their way to California where she lived for the rest of her days. Lois worked in the real estate business her entire life. She worked as an accomplished escrow officer for multiple companies. Lois’ last job was working for Placer Title in Arnold.

Lois loved the Lord, her family, and cooking. She loved feeding anyone that came into her home and one of her last wishes before she passed was to feed the homeless. Lois and Patrick caught the RV bug and were blessed to have visited many national monuments. One of her favorites was Monument Valley. She was known for her smile, her kindness, and her compassion. She was always concerned for everyone around her, even while fighting her own battles.

Lois was preceded in death by her mother Ilene, her sister Vicki and brothers Scott and Ernie. She is survived by her loving husband Patrick, children Heather, Mark, Daniel, and Samantha, sister Nancy, brother Karl, brother Allen, 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at White Pines Park on Saturday, July 27th 2019 from 12 noon to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Lois would love donations be made to Friends of Calaveras Animal Services (FOCAS) P.O. Box 22, Mokulumne, CA 95245.

You will be missed!

Lois,
You will be missed by so many people! You were such an amazing person. I don’t know that I will ever know anyone like you in my entire life. You by far had the most amazingly beautiful soul. You were compassionate and understanding, loving, brave and loyal. There wasn’t a day that you didn’t talk about all the ones you loved, your face would light up showing pictures of grand babies and your very own grown babies. How you would talk about your trips you went on and the time you spent with Patrick. I feel absolutely blessed to have gotten to spend the time with you that I did, I feel a little robbed to not have more, sometimes it’s just not fair, but I can understand why god would want to bring you to heaven, your just too beautiful of a soul. I just wish he would have given you more time here with us . I will remember every piece of life advice you have given me going through life, I will remember you every time I smell the scent of autumn leaves candle or when we are in the grocery store and pass the peanut m&m’s. You are forever engraved into my heart, i love you like a mother and I am so sorry you had to leave us. I am blessed my kids got meet you, and they know who our LoLo is. I know you are looking down on all of us and embracing us as we go through the pain of losing you.
I love you!
Sara

She was a wonderful woman and a blessing to have in our community. I signed papers on my home through her years ago. She will be missed but will always be in our hearts

Lois and I shared an office and joked around saying we were roommates. I learned so much from her, not just about escrow specifically, but about navigating life. She taught me to hold my head high, try my best, and if a mistake was made don't sweat it. Escrow is stressful (LIFE is stressful) and if mistakes are made, or things don't go according to plan, it isn't the end of the world. Nothing is ever the end of the world, no matter how terrible or stressed out you might be at the time.
She taught me to have faith in myself, have faith in the lord, don't take life too seriously, and to just love everybody, all the time.
Lois was one of the good ones. She will be missed more than any one person can imagine.
If you had the blessing of knowing Lois, you were lucky.
Life is short. Eat the cake, pet the puppies, and love your friends and family passionately. It is what Lois would have wanted.

PS- she would be humiliated knowing that we are all posting sappy stuff about how amazing she was, because she was such a humble woman. She didn't even like us to sing Happy Birthday to her, but we did it anyways, and she would always smile and shake her head in a mock-disapproval.

Well said. She was humble, kind and wonderfully sarcastic.
