U.S. Newsroom Employment Dropped 25% Since 2008, Newspapers Down 47%

Washington, DC...From Pew Research..."Newsroom employment across the United States continues to decline, driven primarily by job losses at newspapers. And even though digital-native news outlets have experienced some recent growth in employment, they have added too few newsroom positions to make up for recent losses in the broader industry."

Many articles have been published lately that have highlighted that local newspapers have led the declines in many areas. There are now a significant number of U.S. Counties without local news outlets.

We hope to help to reverse these trends and start hiring in next few months at our local news outlets.

Fake news ( if you call it news) has increased exponentially. There isn't squat on the "news" anymore. Where the heck is Paul Harvey when you need him? Oh by the way ban all commercial cannabis in Calaveras.

Of course - it's all digital now. Many of us would still like to hold a newspaper and read it rather than inconveniently scrolling all around on some device, but those days are going, going, gone. Too bad.

A big portion of this has been in local news. Many counties in the U.S. are now news deserts

Hey, you are not in the slightest bit funny. Nor do you possess any kind of creativity in visual art or craft ability. Go back to school and get a job.
