Little league also prepares children for real life situations that deal with sports,” shared vice president of the Calaveras American Little League, Rich Bakke.
During the opening ceremony day’s family and friends could enter in a raffle drawing to win an autographed baseball from Nolan Ryan a professional baseball player. Other prizes included a computer, golf for four, 2 stadium seats, a movie night basket and much more. Raffle tickets were being sold one for a $1 or 6 for $5.
Overall little league is a great activity and learning experience for small children. If you were unable to sign up this year and would like to sign up next year contact Rich Bakke, at Mark Twain Elementary or Copper Elementary.
