Re: SLOW DOWN sign

What that area needs is a big slow down sign way ahead or one of those big 25 MPH (or less?) sign with a light over it and black arrow signifying a curve-something like what they have over on 17 on the Santa Cruz grade like they have for years. I can remember that when I was a kid even-years ago lol!

What the H are you talking about-"anal insertion?" Some folks who comment have nothing better to say than these insulting and immature comments! I have been driving over that road for years and can remember the old Telegraph City section (old highway 4) before it all got straightened out. I too used to live in the BA, but years ago as well as my folks. We all were careful drivers and had common sense in regards to driving curvy mountainous roads. In fact when we went up to the old cabin we would go up 12/88 even though it was longer, but way less curves. I guess since we all enjoyed the scenery a lot back then. I don't know with these younger generations-everyone seems to be in such a rush these days! Why rush? You leave point A and you will eventually get to point B and drive sensibly and safely. If you want to drive slow and have 10 or more vehicles behind you, then turn off when you find a safe shoulder to drive off on. Sometimes those behind you may have to wait a little bit, but there will eventually be a place to pull over.
Like I said we need more of these big yellow "arrow" signs with an overhead yellow light at night to warn folks about an oncoming sharp turn coming up-in both directions. So no one is really not at fault here-flatlanders or locals. Some folks just need to slow down then we wouldn't have all these terrible wrecks! Geez, some people's kids huh?

Steven go play with your caboose in the woodshed, they both are in need of attention. Loosen yourself up with some devils weed first like you did back in the day. Lol huh?

I don't know about some of you folks, but I am well prepared for a big grid melt down with my own wood. I also have water stored up and plenty of veggies growing in my garden for food sustenance. I'm sure that's a lot more important than growing weed because you can't eat weed! Our basic survival is to have a good supply of food since we must eat and also water to satisfy our thirst. Without those and decent sleep, mankind won't be able to survive. So some of you folks just go ahead and knock yourselves out by smoking your weed and making insults towards others who really don't even know you and probably don't WANT to even know you! So who are the real losers here? Certainly not I cause I know where I am at and proud to say that I have a clear head! I don't need any weed or booze-nothing.

We also have lots more visitors to the area in the last ten or twenty years. In fact, tourism has become one of our top industries. Though there are plenty of locals who don't respect our roads, they can be especially dangerous for those who do not know them.

The Hondurans are; probably adding to the quickly rising homeless numbers in S.F. They are saying a 20% increase in 2019 alone. I’ve noticed many new Honduran Migrants wandering the streets and parks, you really can’t miss them. They are HERE, make no mistake about it and are now draining the many programs for the homeless. Luckily S.F. spends over a billion a year on the homeless but those costs are expected to double by next year because of rising medical costs due to Obama Care. Medical costs alone are going to be over ONE BILLION!
You probably ask how can this be? Well you go to general hospital with some kind of emergency and I guarantee the bill will be over $100,000 for one day.

Of course this is a scam of major proportions but it’s going on everyday and will continue as long as there is money to fill the tank up. This is just for S.F. just think if you looked at all of California! They have taken this homeless thing and really ran with it draining city tax dollars 💵 and lining their pockets. Just look around has the Homeless problem changed at all? HELL NO, ITS BECOME WAY WORSE and will become even more out of control. This will no doubt be the unraveling of society in general. We need a PIED PIPER not a bunch of fake nonprofits if we really want to help the homeless.

Keep on blocking any new revenue sources in Calaveras and we'll have our own share of homeless... without social programs in government center for their offspring.

when are we getting a light at the poole station intersection & main st

when are we getting a light at the poole station intersection & main st in san andreas?

I have heard it said it is a DOT issue, but seriously, how many fatalities, along with other serious injuries, is enough? No a slow down sign is not enough - there is one a short way before that intersection, and a good portion of the turn is blind into traffic, and going up poole station, the area has always been a skid area.

past time to stop the deaths and injuries!

TO THE LAST COMMENT: I totally agree with you. As I said before back in the day, my folks were sensible drivers and since they didn't like "old hiway 4" they drove on 12/88 to get to the cabin in Dorrington. Signed, Steven R Smith

Agree with you. Chewing gum may cause slack jaw like some of the commentators on this web site. Apparently common sense is not in the D.N.A for some generations.

Despite any imperfections I have (which there is no such thing as human perfection), I inherited a lot of good traits from my parents. Some of you folks just have no respect for your elders and even their antecedents and their good traditions, ethics, morals, and values. Apparently some where through time-probably after us "baby boomers" things just went bad! Things like good morals, values, and ethics just got "thrown out the window" and that's why a lot of these millenials just have no respect for others or anything! They let themselves get negatively influenced by miscreants such as George Soros, and the Antifa movement, and some of these "high power" Democrats! I really feel sorry for these young folks since they don't know the real truth! I believe we all have to deal with a "lost generation." So sad! Some of these kids and others should imagine what it was like to live in the Great Depression and see how hard life really was. Some of these young folks these days are just too coddled by permissive parents! Such a shame. Yes, Carol Burton (late)-who I knew- did raise a good brood of kids like Eric Jung stated in an earlier article. If there were a lot more of them-decently brought up and raised well-I bet we wouldn't have so many problems with unruly kids, gangs, all DRUGS, delinquency, drop outs, underage pregnant girls, and crime! Did I leave out anything? Let me know.
