God forbid...using big aircraft to put it out quickly. Just let it keep building into a gigantic tragedy. So hard to believe in this day and age, someone is still making it mandatory to use the antiquated methods. The leaders in California come to mind here.

Yet here you are boob, opening your big trap and you certainly have proved you know nothing at all. I have been a firefighter in the past. The Global 747 Supertanker would have put it out in short order. It is capable of dropping a fine mist.

You don't know the details either and why decisions were made as they were. Most firefighters I know including those in my own family have enough respect to refrain from judgement until information is shared and reports made. They also aren't much for name-calling.

French fire fighters tonight are saying massive amounts of water were not dropped from above because the building could have collapsed. Perhaps you should wait to hear from your colleagues across the miles before proffering your expert opinion.

The incompetent French fire fighters took over two hours to arrive on scene.
The building's walls and superstructure are made of stone and the wood roof was already collapsing.
A water air drop was definitely in order.
Maybe French pilots are afraid to fly over a fire zone? History proves it.

One of the most beautiful churches if not buildings in the world, the artwork incredible and a place of reverence within. Was fortunate to visit it a couple of times in the past. So incredibly tragic.

Are you nuts? What are you some type of disloyal anarchist? Where are your morals? This is a very historic edifice and has been there for centuries-a very revered house of worship. I think it was caused by these terrorists. Maybe some of the people in France thinks our country is a "s hole" too! I don't even think that YOU care about our own country. You seem to be a very upset person and need to get out of this negative mode-get out of your shell! Some of you folks just moan and groan all day at home about the conditions of our world, but you won't do anything about it. Be a part of the solution-not part of the problem!

It was France who shipped munitions and other supplies to the American patriots, spoiling an almost certain British victory. That country for a time went into debt to aid America in its fight for independence against its enemy from previous wars, Great Britain. There is much in common with the French and American Revolutions and we most certainly used the French as a model of rebellion and independence from English rule. In fact, most historians will say that there would be no America today if the French hadn't gotten involved with a rag tag band of colonial rebels. It's a shame that you somehow missed that lesson along the way. We owe France a great deal as a nation.

Fox host Shepard Smith abruptly cut off a French government official describing the burning of the Notre Dame cathedral after he suggested that the blaze may not have been accidental.

“I would tell you something, even if nobody died, it’s like a 9/11, the French 9/11,” French official Philippe Karsenty said of the historic cathedral’s burning on Monday.

“And it’s a big shock. I mean, this church was there for more than 850 years, even the Nazis didn’t dare to destroy it.”

Karsenty then explained the routine Islamic attacks against churches throughout France, and alluded that the media is spreading the “politically correct” narrative that the cathedral’s burning is accidental before being suddenly cut off by Smith.

“And you need to know that for the past year we’ve had churches desecrated each and every week in France. All over France. Of course you will hear the stories about the political correctness which will tell you that it’s probably an accident — ”

“Sir? Sir. Sir. We’re not going to speculate here of the cause of something which we don’t know,” Smith said.

“I’m just telling you something, we need to be ready — ” Karsenty began.

“No sir. We’re not doing that here. Not now, not on my watch,” Smith snapped.

Coincidentally, Fox host Neil Cavuto reportedly also abruptly cut off the Catholic League president Bill Donahue for insinuating the fire was intentionally caused.

The notion that the Notre Dame blaze could have been started by arsonists was first reported by local cathedral workers.

“A Jesuit friend in Paris who works in #NotreDame told me cathedral staff said the fire was intentionally set,” reported Time columnist Christopher J. Hale.

It’s not outside the realm of possibility to deduce arson as the cause of the fire.

Anti-Christian attacks in France have been on the rise following the European Union’s decision to flood the continent with millions of migrants in 2015.

Over 3000 people died on 9/11 I don't think you should compare 9/11 to this fire which as we know so far, has claimed NO LIVES.
Maybe it's an act of God for those called the voice of God raping little boys, raping nuns, stealing money and wealth all in the Lord's name?
Yes it's very sad that many priceless pieces of art will be lost but it's not a 9/11 That act cost many lives, not just here in the US

I hope one or two of them will actually read your comment and learn something. Maybe even encourage them to learn more. As far as the comment up a bit saying it has no comparison to 9-11, you would be mistaken. Not in terms of lives lost but as a cultural symbol as many also viewed the World Trade Towers. France is in mourning tonight as many of us that have been privileged to spend time in this beautiful, historic edifice.

We're talking about cultural icons, symbols of a nation. The lives lost on 9-11 were a tragedy unto itself. There is some comparison to be made. You need to stretch and stop thinking something has to be one or the other, black and white. But in your world someone is a loser if they don't agree with you in total so perhaps the point is moot. Do stay in the area because you won't do well in the greater world.

Say what you want, but France has open borders and virtually no security at their borders, they pretty much let any Tom, Dick or Haadiyah to come in
unchecked into their country, and they're making it even easier.
''A new law was put to the French parliament on Monday which aims to shrink the bureaucratic hurdles for foreigners wanting to stay in France.''
That doesn't seem to be working out too well for them lately with the news of violence they have been having if you've followed the news at all.
At least our President is trying, but the hatred and bigotry shown by the democrats are fighting him all the way.
The democrats say they have open arms to the illegal immigrants.....until Trump said he would bus them to their sanctuary cities, and the democrats are SCREAMING FOUL, they DON'T want them that bad it seems, HYPOCRITES.

Not many, apparently. Okay, boys and girls - pay attention. It's about comparison versus place in time. i.e., The GOP once said they would never pass a budget that would include more THAN would pay for itself through existing taxes. THEN the GOP gave 2.4B in cuts to the uber wealthy, coincidentally the same number being proposed in cuts to Medicaid and Medicare. Did that help?

The long established reports besides the official 9-11 report states bush was warned repeatedly about Bin laden attacking the US using commercial aircraft.
bush was told many times many months before 9.11. 5 Federal agencies sent warning reports including the FBI, NSA, State dept and others .

bush and the Neo Cons wanted an attack for various reasons. bush so he could be a war time president he admitted in an interview a year before 2000. Cheney wanted Iraq's oil, the Neo Cons wanted to try a birthing democracy trial.

To believe the 9-11 attacks were a surprise is just plain fantasy, the 9.11 report makes this painfully clear.

This is one true conspiracy unlike so many the conspiriheads believe.

Notre Dame in South Bend-a university. Notre Dame in Paris-cathedral and both owned and operated by the catholic church and Jesuits. Take a course in European or art history-interesting stuff!
