Board of Supervisors Notice of Public Hearing

San Andreas, CA...BOARD OF SUPERVISORS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING. LEAD AGENCY: Calaveras County Planning Department, 891 Mountain Ranch Rd., San Andreas, CA 95249. 2018-024 GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT, ZONING AMENDMENT, CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT & PLANNED DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CALAVERAS HUMANE SOCIETY.The project includes a General Plan Amendment from the current City of Angels Sphere of Influence, Residential Suburban to Commercial-Recreation, a Zoning Amendment from General Commercial – Planned Development (C2-PD) to Rural Commercial – Planned Development (RC-PD), and a Conditional Use Permit and Planned Development Permit to convert the exiting building to an animal shelter for the Calaveras County Humane Society. The property is located at 1209 Hwy 49, approximately 1.5 miles northwest of the intersection of SR49 and SR4 in Angels Camp. APN: 058-001-009 is a 0.49-acre parcel located in a portion of Section 19, T03N, R13E, MDM. Pursuant to CEQA guidelines, a Notice of Exemption has been prepared for the proposed project.





NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on April 9, 2019, at 9:00 a. m. or soon thereafter to consider the above referenced appeal. The public hearing will be held in the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Chambers, Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, California.

Pursuant to Government Code 65009, if anyone challenges the above listed issues in a court of law, the challenge may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raise at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Board, at or prior to, the public hearing. You are welcome to review the application at the Calaveras County Planning Department during normal working hours, 8:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m., Monday through Friday except county holidays. Board of Supervisors agenda is available online http://bos.calaverasgov.us at noon on the Friday prior to the meeting. The project file and staff report can be viewed or purchased at the Planning Department for the cost of making the copies.

      Why are the applying for zoning changes after the fact? They have already sunk a load of money into the building, everyone has been told they will be opening in May but they are not legal yet? Whose big blunder was this one?

      Exactly. What are they going to do? Ask them to politely tear it down if not in compliance. Why do homes and other businesses have to pay for a bit of an apron in terms of a longer paved driveway or gravel and this sits right off the highway? It's an accident waiting to happen.
