The Search Continues for Shannon David Scott

Wilseyville, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the disappearance of Shannon David Scott. Mr. Scott reportedly departed for a medical appointment at the Sacramento Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center on the date of his disappearance. It was reported that he left the area of Wilseyville (Calaveras County) at about 11:00am on August 29, 2018. His appointment was scheduled for 1:30pm, however, Mr. Scott did not arrive to his appointment. He was scheduled to return to Wilseyville on August 29, 2018.

Mr. Scott was reported missing by a family member on August 31, 2018 at about 10:30am.
At the time of the report, an investigation was initiated which included the issuance of a Silver Alert, a search of Mr. Scott’s residence, an aerial search of his path of travel, and investigation into the latest activity and location of Mr. Scott’s cell phone.

Results from the cell phone provider indicated that the last activity on Mr. Scott’s phone had occurred in the Sloughhouse area of Jackson Highway on August 30, 2018 at about 3:00pm.

Detectives from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed that Mr. Scott’s vehicle was positively identified travelling northbound on Sunrise Boulevard (Sacramento County) from Jackson Highway at 12:12pm on August 29, 2018.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the assistance of anyone who may have observed a 2014 Fiat travelling in the area of Jackson Highway, Sunrise Boulevard, or
Calaveras County on or around August 29, 2018.

The Fiat is white in color with two doors. At the time of the disappearance, the vehicle had distinctive Purple Heart Plates with the identification number of 9038PH along with a distinctive USMC white sticker in the rear window.

Shannon Scott is reported to be approximately 6 feet tall and weigh about 170 pounds. He has blue eyes and may be bald or have blond hair. He has four tattoos; one located on his right forearm of a dragon, left forearm of a red rose, right bicep of a Pegasus, and one on his left bicep of the Kentucky Flag. He was last believed to be wearing a black t-shirt, white shorts, and brown shoes.

Mr. Scott may have appeared unsteady on his feet and may have had a cane. It has been reported that he was unable to walk more than a few feet without assistance.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office at (209)754-6500. Anonymous tips may be left at (209)754-6030.
