Not to mention the ones picking the crops so you can have groceries, moron. So past time for an amnesty program for those here working, contributing and paying taxes though they'll never see a dime in social security. Also for California to acknowledge that our economy is dependent on immigrant help, legal or not.

Your uneducated argument is moot. Each and every year machinery and automation takes over planting, picking, pruning, etc. All of the hard labor slaves will no longer be needed.

As is your uneducated response. We have been hearing about automation for two or three decades. Truth be told, there's more of it going on in Michigan and Ohio factories than the fields. Drive through the Central Valley and tell me I'm mistaken. And it's not like our kids are trimming the local grapes.

Stop complaining, you chose to live in the high-country. Deal with it or move. The elderly should not be living in the high-country at all!! Everyone else but you seems knows it takes considerable physical work during and after storms the higher up in elevation. Many more homes bought by Flatlanders will be for sale come spring, that is if they are not taken by Natural Selection first.

Vacation homes are maintained by local workers and companies. There's always a turnover but it's more about the kids are grown and we no longer need that second home than weather.

Yep. You got to do what you gotta do! Stock up on food, have plenty of firewood if you have wood stove or fireplace. Or get a generator. Anyway-man up cause we got another storm coming and nothing we can do about it. And lets not blame PG&E personnel who are working hard to keep the "juice" going and also keep us safe. If you want to blame someone, blame the rich SOB's who have major stock in the company who are living in the comforts of their own homes behind locked gates!
