Georgia Clark Everson 1931 – 2019

Murphys, CA...Georgia Clark Everson Oct. 9, 1931 – Jan. 17, 2019. Georgia passed peacefully with family by her side after a short illness. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, companion and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved Grandson Tim “TJ” Everson Jr, husband Warren Everson of Friday Harbor WA., husband Brad VanNoate of Lodi Ca, fiancé Peter Karpa of Murphys CA and parents Jim and Dot Clark of Ashland OR.

She Graduated from Klamath Union High School in Klamath Falls, OR in 1949 where she was active in many organizations. College life began at Southern Oregon College in Ashland and she would graduate from San Jose State College in 1956 with plans to become a teacher. While attending San Jose State, she was President of Alpha Phi Sorority and active in many social activities as evident by her very thorough scrapbooks. She also met future husband Warren Everson and many wonderful lifelong friends. After college she married Warren and settled in Sunnyvale, CA where they had three sons.

Her college friends as well as friends from her youth in Klamath Falls were central to her life until her final days. She would teach for many years in Campbell, Palo Alto, and finally in Calaveras County where she and the boys moved with second husband Brad VanNoate in 1970. She continued her education and received her master’s degree in Education from The University of San Francisco in 1985. She Finished her career as Vice Principle and Testing Coordinator for Vallecito Unified School District.

After retirement she relocated to Roseville, CA. She traveled the globe with longtime friend Lane Weiss, formed many local Bridge groups and joined P.E.O. where she developed another group of close friends. Her homes in Murphys and Roseville were always the center of family holidays and celebrations.

She is survived by son Chris Everson of Orangevale CA, son Tim Everson and his wife Dawn of Manteca CA, son Andy Everson and his wife Lori of Folsom, CA and Grandson Michael Everson and his wife Michelle of Eugene, OR. Georgia is also survived by her sisters Sue Richards of Medford, OR and Judi Berry and her husband Hal also of Medford.

Grave side services will be held at noon on Feb 2nd at the Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys. A Celebration of Life will be held following the services at the Murphys Hotel from 2 to 4 pm.

"I WILL have a cow -- a cow FIT, and I don't think the class wants to hear it!"
-Mrs. Everson, Hazel Fischer, 1990

I can still picture the look on your face as you hollered at the worst kid in class. And I'll never forget all those nine year-olds' eyes bugging out of their shocked little heads. It was awesome. RIP, Mrs. Everson.
