Day 33 and Trump is still proud to own his shutdown of our government. Way to go Donnie boy! I'm sure your handlers, Putin and Coulter, who've got the goods on you, are very happy too. So are Pelosi and Schumer, because smartypants you told them you'd be proud to own it. Well you do, Donnie boy. Happy shutdown Donnie!

The wealthy have always had loopholes. A 125 million dollar home on a mortgage (think hard, it's a write off/deduction) compared to your apartment or $300,000 mortgage.

FUN FACTS FOR THE ENTIRE WORKING FORCE

And democrats have always been feeding off the welfare system by a higher percentage then republicans, FACT

        Pass the Buffett Rule.
The Buffett rule, inspired by billionaire Warren Buffett, would require millionaires to pay a minimum tax rate of 30%. This will guarantee that the wealthy will not pay a smaller share of their income in taxes than a middle-class family pays. It would raise $72 billion over 10 years.
Now wouldn't that hit a sweet spot?

It’s only been a couple BOS meetings and you have already made up your mind. That’s a fine example of reasoning. She has a wealth of experience — more than the rest of the board combined. We don’t need more child-like decisions like we got from Clapp and Mills. Hopefully next year Dennis will be sent back to repairing washing machines like he used to do.

FUN FACTS FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

You got screwed in taxes? Did you know Republicans pay 75% of all taxes collected in the US?
      No you didn't know because
      1) you're too lazy to look it up.
      2) you're too stupid to look it up.
      3) being on welfare, you don't pay taxes.
      4) the majority of the folks on welfare (look in the mirror) in Calif and the rest of the states are...DEMOCRATS
So maybe you should go steal more aluminum cans in the trash cans around where you live and be happy that some people ...unlike yourself, work and pay taxes.
''Republicans pay significantly more in state and local taxes, which would indicate that they pay more in federal taxes as well since both depend upon income. Democrats and Republicans--rhetoric and Reality State-by-state, it would appear that blue states (Democrat) pay more than red states (Republican), but that doesn’t tell you much about what individuals pay. Blue states often tax businesses and individuals at very high rates, and as a reaction many of these people vote Republican. The overall voting pattern of the state doesn’t reflect who is actually paying taxes in that state.''

It is you who ought to do your research. Welfare is used mainly by the GOP base of voters. Here's a link:

        https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/02/gop-base-poverty-snap-social-security/516861/

        Here's another one:

        https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-05-10/trump-voters-would-be-hit-hardest-by-gop-s-food-stamp-work-rules

These articles don't even take into account the corporate welfare programs (oil drilling subsidies, crop price supports, carried interest rules for stock traders, etc.) that overwhelmingly support the rich, who are, of course, mostly Republicans.

Finally, Calaveras county is heavily Republican and is by a huge margin a taker, not a maker county. It is a safe bet that the welfare payments received in Calaveras county go mostly to Republicans.

In case you actually care to educate yourself there are many more articles easily available on the internet that will help you understand that your prejudiced misconceptions about welfare are common among Republican voters. So don't feel bad. You simply have the prejudices of your tribe.

My politics are completely different than Al's, but I give him a shout out for conducting a very respectful and intelligent interview. Well done, Sir.

Too bad political discourse elsewhere is so disrespectful. Al and Merita showed it's possible to have different viewpoints and still have a polite conversation.
