Local Snowmobile Community Cleans Snow Play Areas During Government Shutdown

Bear Valley, CA...The local snowmobile community has pitched in to clean up the snow play areas of debris, garbage and waste left behind. We thank you for visiting our area to play and recreate but please clean up after yourselves. Even during a government shutdown locals will keep our area clean but they do wish they could be out riding instead of donning their unpaid clean up crew hats.

Since 1972 the government has built over 3000 miles of 'sound walls' along our highways to 'protect' nearby homeowners from traffic sounds.
These walls cost about $2 million per mile. The government has spent over $6 billion of our tax money on them.
If the government can spend $6 billion on walls to protect homeowners from traffic noise, why can't it spend $5 billion to protect our lives?

About Your Tax Returns and the Shut Down:
Everybody got paid before. Everybody got their Return but a tad late. Everybody came out alive. Didn't your Parents always tell you to save for hard times? Yeah think about those words your Parents tried to tell you but you did not want to listen to. Now go be a good responsible Adult and stop your crying.

Please tell that to low income parents waiting for WIC help with their groceries along with seniors and shut-ins in need of services. I'm more than a little concerned with TSA airport staff not showing up for work while I still have to travel for work, too.

A very good idea is, have a positive attitude or, get yourself some medication. We, the Republicans will pay for it!!! Depression is about 80% of the comments here. Do it now or, you will do it later. Hopefully, someone or a loveone doesn't have to do it for you...be happy and proud of who you are!!!!

Yeah, stay home. Don’t bring your dollars. Don’t support our town. I’d rather stay home and complain about the trash somebody else picked up then see our community thrive with tourism dollars.

He or she is right in that there has to be some middle ground. For God's sake, they're pooping on the side of the road in Yosemite. Use facilities before you enter - and would it be such a big deal to pack a trash bag and take your kid's diaper and broken plastic sled home, or at least to a dumpster?

"Don’t bring your dollars. Don’t support our town."

So you own some kind of junk business that relies on tourist dollars, not a business that the local community needs. Your business is costing all the taxpayers with the mess that has to be cleaned up. Your business will likely go under. Unfortunately another clueless fool like you will just open another one that is not needed or can be supported by the community.

Respect for property, the environment and others does not involve money, so they can pack their trash home with them... people with good hearts should not have to volunteer to pick up after them in the first place......

You should direct your scorn to Trump since it is his shutdown. Trump knows the Art of the Swindle but not the Art of the Deal.

Now he's so desperate he'd settle for a wall made out of paper mache. Did you watch his press conference? The man is a babbling idiot.

Well sometimes it takes what it takes like civic minded volunteers doing this. Seems to me like those who are complaining do more crying about it than jumping in and help-full of hot air! Just think of what was going on during the Depression? There was a lot of volunteerism and the same with WW2. I've been watching some old Walton episodes lately about that era and those episodes pretty much convey the truth-what people really did back in the day. The morals of our country were even better back then back in the day and kids would get spanked too without any nosy neighbors turning tin he guy next door-those crazy "clip board" cops! People back then appreciated the simple things in life in both Depression times and WW2. I imagine some of these people commenting (the whiners) have no conceivable idea what those days were like and all about the gas rationing and food rationing that was done to support the war effort. I say read the history books!

You're showing your ignorance again!! This mess is not in any way, shape or form Trump's fault. Since when is it Trump's responsibility, the forest service's responsibility to clean up after YOU...the disrespectful pig? It definitely isn't these people's responsibility. This is a normal thing in our area...summer or winter, shutdown or full force. Some people just don't accept their responsibility. Make a mess and let someone else clean it up. Get out of your house once in a while and lend a helping hand. It's your home also. Even if you don't get out and help, just keep quiet. Quit criticizing every time you feel grouchy. My grandma used to say "IF YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHIN NICE, KEEP YOUR FAT MOUTH SHUT!S"
