Chelsea Lund Lost Her Life & Vehicular Manslaughter Charges Filed for Donald Jackson in DUI Collision

Valley Springs, CA...From San Andreas CHP..."It is with great sadness that San Andreas CHP had to investigate a fatal traffic collision last night, 12/23/2018. A 27-year old Valley Springs woman, Chelsea Lund, lost her life and we believe that a DUI driver was the cause of this collision. Fatal collisions are always horrible and being so close to Christmas makes this one so much worse."

Donald Jackson and Dusty Jackson were driving their vehicles northbound on Pettinger Road north of Messing Road. Chelsea Lund was driving southbound on Pettinger Road approaching them. Donald Jackson was illegally passing Dusty Jackson over double yellow lines directly into the path of Lund. Due to his level of intoxication, Donald Jackson failed to safely pass and the front of his Chevrolet Silverado collided head-on with the front of Lund's Chevrolet Cruze. The Chevrolet Silverado then collided with the other Chevrolet Silverado. Chelsea Lund was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. The passengers in the Cruz were transported by life flight to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment of moderate to major injuries.

Further investigation at the scene resulted in Donald Jackson and Dusty Jackson both being arrested for Felony Driving Under the Influence. Donald Jackson was additionally charged with Gross Vehicular Manslaughter while Intoxicated.

Alcohol was a primary factor in this collision. This collision is still under investigation.
