What a shame, and the second one today?

Condolences to the family and friends...of both people.

So sorry for his friends and family- as much fun as they are to ride, they truly are dangerous for so many reasons. Strength to all during this difficult time.

I've had seven motorcycles and at 55 years old my reflexes were noticably slower. Five were sport bikes 150mph+. No more for me. Good rider but, thank God, I know the dangers. Never crashed but, luck was on my side.

Congrats to you for making a wise decision.
I had fun as a kid on a few bikes, then used a 500 for going to work. Then one day someone cut in front of me and I went down, thank God I was wearing a helmet (not required back in the day) there was a big deep scrap on the back. I decided no more bike for me. It was fun to ride, but just too dangerous and I'll admit I wasn't the best rider on one, but smart enough to stop riding, before I killed myself....with some help from some pretty crappy, rude azzholes behind the wheel these days. These young drivers today are pretty *bleep*ty driver, and that's a fact. They are as bad as a demented, drooling 90 year old, and I'd rather be with that 90 year old behind the wheel. At least he'll drive over me slowly then hitting me at 95 mph and the and old drooler will at least stop where the young guy will do a hit and run.

^^ What is a scrap on the back? Why don't you go do an English class?

In the picture, snapped in the darkness of a Wilton vineyard, Jack Kautz crouches behind a dead buck, smiling as he holds up the animal's head by its freakishly large set of antlers.

It was a buck for the record books with sprawling antlers about an arm's width apart. If Katuz 52, had been had been able to claim it is as official trophy, he could have added it to his long list of accomplishments detailed on the website of his family's Lodi grape growing business, Ironstone Vineyards.
The problem, wildlife investigators say, is that he cheated when he bagged his trophy buck – shooting it two months after the state’s hunting season for blacktail deer officially ended. Such out-of-season kills are automatically disqualified for trophy hunting record books. They are also punishable by fines and jail time.
