Calaveras Community Foundation Benefit Pro-Am Golf Tournament Set for Cinco De Mayo at La Contenta

Angels Camp, CA....The 21st Annual La Contenta Pro-Am Golf Tournament benefiting the Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) will be a Cinco de Mayo celebration this year. The always popular event, which features a prize purse of $4,000 for pro golfers and more than $2,000 for amateur players, will take place on Monday, May 5, at the Valley Springs golf course. The tournament’s proceeds aid the work of the nonprofit CCF, the only countywide....

philanthropic organization serving residents from children to seniors in areas from health and education to the arts. The CCF’s Patron for 2008 is the Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel. Other sponsors include JDK Construction and Design, Laraine Wines, Kellys Drug Store, Weber-Ghio & Associates, Hammond Ford, the Gold Country Times, and the Valley Springs News.

The pro-am also features a hole-in-one contest (with an automobile as the grand prize) and several closest-to-hole contests. A tri-tip lunch and a taco bar dinner are included in the $135 fee. Amateurs will play in foursomes led by pros. Foursomes can register together or individuals will be assigned foursomes. For more information, please call Scott Ratterman at 754-3426.
