Updated....Reginald L. Love, 48 from Lodi Lost His Life in Big Rig Rollover on Hwy 12

Valley Springs, CA...(Updated...The sad notifications have been made and it can now be released that it was Reginald L. Love, 48 from Lodi who lost his life in this collision.) On November 2, 2018, at 2052 hours, A Lodi man was driving westbound on SR-12 east of Wards Avenue. For an unknown reason, he allowed his 2010 Freightliner to drive onto the right hand shoulder. He turned the truck to the left and lost control of dump truck. The truck continued sliding straight for several hundred feet and then overturned onto the passenger side. The truck continued on its passenger side, westbound and collided with a 6" asphalt curb. The Freightliner went through the curb and down a dirt embankment, colliding with the ground at the bottom of the embankment. During the collision, the Lodi man was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

The deceased was not wearing his seatbelt during the collision and on scene investigators felt confident that he would have sustained minor or no injuries had he been wearing his seatbelt.

Alcohol and/or drug use is not suspected at this time.

No further details are available at this time and the deceased's identity will be released after next of kin have been notified.
