Bear Valley Racers Ski Hot at Sierra Summit Last Weekend! We have over 40 minutes of footage!

Bear Valley, CA...The Bear Valley Ski Race Team participated in another USSA race last weekend. This time, Sierra Summit played host to the Far West Teams. Our Bear Valley Racers pulled out all the stops at the J4 Super G and J5 Big G races. In the J5 Ladies Big G, Keely Cashman took first place both days. Not to be outdone by his little sister, Jordan Cashman matched the effort by taking home first place both days in J5 Men. The J4s also stepped up the pace with Mackenzie Comstock, of Big Trees Village, taking first place both days in the Super G and Erik Arvidsson taking first place on Saturday in the Mens J4 Super G.....

The rest of the team also was skiing hot! In Saturday's J5 Ladies big G, Libby Rimmer placed 4th with Clair Bertrand hot on heels in 5th.The girls returned on Sunday with another 4th for Libby and 5th for Claire.

For the J5 Men,the BV team consistency continued with Karl Arvidsson taking second both days. Cooper White place 10th on Saturday and moving up a notch on Sunday to 9th. On Saturday first year racers, Chris Casals finished 12th followed by Granger Hamilton in 17th, Matthew Smith in 21st and Tim Lunsford in 30th. On Sunday Matthew was 19th, Granger 20th and Tim 33rd.

Our youngest racers, Noah Cashman and Jon Schulthies deftly navigated the tough course successfully both days with Jon taking a 5th on Saturday and 7th on Sunday in J6 Men. Noah finished 7th on Saturday and 8th on Sunday.

On Saturday, Jordyn Colonias placed 4th in the J4 Ladies SG followed by sister Kendyl in 7th. Bailey Rimmer took 9th and Sydney Nikoloff 20th. On Sunday, Jordyn jumped up to take 2nd place, Kendyl finished 7th, Bailey took 8th and Sydney moved up to 19th.

In J4 Men, Stefan Neilsen was on the podium in 3rd place. Colin Glenday took 5th, Sean Berry placed 8th, Jamey Wilson came in 11th and James Young took 13th. On Sunday, both Erik and Stefan lost a ski and were DNF. Colin once again took 5th, James took 10th, Sean was in at 11th and Jamey took 13th.

In the J3 Ladies competition on Saturday, Maddy Berry took 4th, Aline Bertrand was in at 5th, followed by Shelby White at 6th. On Sunday, Maddy moved up to the podium taking 3rd with Shelby in at 5th.

Congratulations to all....great racing
