A 74 year old should not be riding a scooter and questionable if he should even drive an automobile.

A 74 year old can still drive. It all depends on the individuals health and coordination. There's more then enough people in the 20 to 50 yeas age group who shouldn't be driving. Just take a look in your rear view mirror when one of our local idiots are 10 feet behind you while you're driving on any of our highways.

If you have locals 10' off your rear bumper, then you clearly must be one of the 'local idiots' who insist upon driving 10-15 mph below the posted speed limit...until the passing zone, where you accelerate to whatever speed is required to EVERYBODY else behind you...then at the end of the passing zone, you settle back to your previous 'cruising' speed...

Just an FYI... that posted speed limit is the MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT, not the minimum speed limit.

And it's perfectly legal per the DMV to do 15 mph less than the posted maximum speed LIMIT.

So leave earlier and stop stressing about the slow poke. Start enjoying your drive. We live in beautiful country here in Calaveras County!

Who the hell are you to say who should and shouldn't drive ?? Most of the wrecks I've seen around here are not old folk. Put your phone down and pay attention !

Here we go once more , the people will be stuck with paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to play all the kings men to put this humpty dumpty fossil together again.

What a waste.

Ban the bikes. Unsafe at any speed.

Another old fart regretting his wasted youth and trying to recapture the "rebel" within.
