High Tech on the Rise in Angels Camp, with Room For More!~By John Hamilton
Angels Camp, CA...Blastronix, a local maker of High-End PCI Video Controller and Input/Output cards is looking to expand. They have outgrown their current location and are planning to build a new building in the Angels Creek Business Park in Angels Camp. Blastronix is one of the companies in the area that possibly points the way to future job growth in the county. Many of you may not have known that nestled in between Mother Lode Propane and the Columbia College's Calaveras County office in Glory Hole Center, is a high tech firm that manufactures electronic circuit boards for some on the biggest companies on the planet. Some of their customers include..ESPN, IBM, CNN, Exxon, NBC, NASA, Turner Broadcasting, Boeing Aircraft and many, many more. Looking at who they sell to looks like looking at a list of the Fortune 500...
They also do Web Design, Graphic Arts & Networking for local clients. They are looking to build a new facility in the Angels Creek Business Park owned by Steve Hayward.
The size of the building is still under discussion but according to Blastronix President David Barnes they hope to build a 10 to 15,000 square foot structure. This would give them 5,000-7,000 sq ft for their needs with plenty of additional room ready for another High Tech Tenant. David mentioned that with all of the quality of life aspects to Calaveras County it would be the perfect place for additional firms to move to. So if you would like to relocate your company to our area there may soon be a building waiting for you.
When we spoke to the Angels Creek Business Park's Steve Hayward last week and he was excited about the proposed Blastronix move. He also said it was inline with what seems to be developing in the Stelte Park / Angels Creek area. This complex can provide a great location for Medical, Office and High Tech companies. It is centrally located and can provide modern buildings and infrastructure while still in walking distance to Historic Downtown Angels Camp.
Mark Twain St. Joseph's recently announced the opening of their new occupational medicine facility in this area as well.
