Calaveras County Humane Society and Local Veterinarians Increase Spay Days 2008!
Vallecito, CA...The Calaveras Humane Society (CHS) is teaming up with Calaveras County veterinarians to make it easier for pet owners to spay and neuter their four-legged friends. Several local veterinarian hospitals are still offering Spay Days – free spay and neuter clinics – multiple times during the year.
“We’re building on Spay Day USA, which is a one-day, national event held at the end of February every year,” said Judy Telezinski, chairwoman of the CHS Spay and Neuter Committee. “One day can make a huge difference in controlling the unwanted pet population, but that one day is not always convenient for Calaveras County pet owners. We spoke with local veterinarian doctors Steve and Cathy Gatlin and Mike Hayes and found a way to do more.”
CHS and the veterinarians have coordinated six free spay and neuter clinics at three veterinarian hospitals. Space is limited. Calaveras County residents* interested in having their pets spayed or neutered at one of these clinics must call a participating veterinary hospital and schedule an appointment.

The Calaveras Humane Society is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to improving quality of life for animals throughout Calaveras County.
