That highway's too dangerous.
They should close that section down, and pave another 2 lanes about 20-30' off to the side of the old road.

The DO NOT guy isn't smart enough to write the rest...that
Ladies and Gentlemen is your typical democrat.
Don't get me wrong, plenty of smart Democrats are out there,
but DO NOT is right up there with the Einsteins and Rocket Scientist
filling our prisons, and the leeches in our society stealing money from those
who need it, our elders, Vets, children, homeless & handicapped.
but...he's too lazy and dishonest to work.
Our President maybe an egotistical blowhard, but I believe after
seeing &hearing the countless lies & problems that has come to light with the Clinton family our Electors picked the right candidate.
SOOO Have a wonderful day to all the common folks WHO WORK
and keep this country strong. You & I are the ones who keep
America working by paying taxes, without you, this country would
fall apart slowly but surely. Remember to vote and vote wisely,
not for a party, but the best person YOU think is qualified for
          the job.
God Bless You, your family and this great country we are blessed to live in.
          Love it or Leave it.

Calaveras County is heavily Republican so it is very likely that there are more Republicans than Democrats on welfare here.

Republicans are forever complaining that our colleges and universities are hot beds of liberal thought and indoctrination, so it is highly likely that the educated class in America skews Democratic.

Blanket insults of a political party based on no facts at all simply contribute to the tribalism that currently affects political discourse in this country. That is in no one's best interest. Or at least not in the best interests of anyone who genuinely cares about this country.

The highway between San Andreas and Angels Camp is worse. No paved edge past the outer white lines. Very narrow bridges that are frightening if a large vehicle is coming on the bridge with you.

On that section of highway it's really necessary to have one of those things, and since you'll be traveling at higher speeds, it's important to keep it well lubricated & calibrated.

Two separate roads would definitely be the answer but this is the state of Calif. and long story short, would take decades.
    Great idea you have.

That picture was taken in Valley Springs (7:40 PM) East on Hwy 12 just past Burger King/Taco Bell and before Lime Creek Rd. at the gas station. (A white van, 3 sheriff cars and an ambulance.)

A little further down just past where Lime Creek Rd. loop comes out again on East Hwy 12 (between Lime Creek and Double Springs Rd.) looked to be the major incident. Traffic was backed up (sheriff cars and another ambulance.) There were also 3 sheriff cars on Lime Creek Rd. conversing.

There was a sheriff car on Paloma Rd. and traffic was abnormally heavy (most likely rerouted that way.)

In Mokelumne Hill a sheriff car with lights was speeding towards San Andreas.

Much was going on all at once. With the amount of sheriff cars on the roads it was something very serious.

Thank you for posting what you were able to find out John.

In the picture, snapped in the darkness of a Wilton vineyard, Jack Kautz crouches behind a dead buck, smiling as he holds up the animal's head by its freakishly large set of antlers.

It was a buck for the record books with sprawling antlers about an arm's width apart. If Katuz 52, had been had been able to claim it is a official trophy, he could have added it to his long list of accomplishments detailed on the website of his family's Lodi grape growing business, Ironstone Vineyards.
