Ironstone Vineyards Welcomes Spring with Obsession!

Murphys, CA.. Ironstone Vineyards is excited to announce the 11th annual Spring Obsession event this weekend, March 1st & 2nd, a celebration of food, wine, art and a new season. The occasion officially welcomes Spring with the release of Ironstone’s newest vintage of Obsession Symphony wine, the 2007 vintage. Cooking demonstrations, a juried art exhibition and sale, along with live music will all be free and open to the public.....

Ironstone will have approximately 500,000 daffodils in bloom during this time of year, creating a yellow field of blooms along the road and in the vineyards to the winery. The daffodil bloom graces the label of the Obsession wine being celebrated. A winner of numerous awards and much praise, Obsession is a light-bodied wine with a floral bouquet and a delicious taste that is incomparable to any other white wine on the market. Highly versatile with an illusion of sweetness, it pairs with many types of cuisine and is an exceptional complement to spicy dishes.

The weekend will be full of events that are all open to the public. From garden tours to cooking demonstrations, visitors to the winery can take part in a number of activities along with having the chance to taste the newest wine release.

Continuing with the celebration of Spring, the Obsession Art Exhibition opens Saturday at 10:00 am. There are two divisions for entries; “A Spring Obsession of Daffodils” and an Open Division. All of the works are available for sale to the public at the winery. The Artists Reception, Saturday March 1st will be hosted from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Culinary Center and Music Room. The unveiling of the winning themed entry which will become the Ironstone Obsession poster for 2008, will be revealed. The event is open to the public. There will be hors d'oeuvres and wine tasting. Reservations are required and cost for entry is $20 per person.
