Twisted Folk Concerts Continue with Della Mae plus Jeremy Kittel & Co! at Twisted Oak Winery June 23rd !

Vallecito, CA...It's a MINI-FESTIVAL! Not only do we have the estimable Jeremy Kittel on fiddle, with Joshua Pinkham on mandolin and Quinn Bachand on guitar, we take it up a notch by also presenting Della Mae! Since forming in Boston in 2009, Nashville- based string band Della Mae has established a reputation as a charismatic live act comprised of some of the finest players in bluegrass, Americana and beyond. These ladies were IBMA’s Emerging Artists of the Year in 2013, GRAMMY Nominees in 2014 for their debut album on Rounder Records, named among Rolling Stone’s “10 bands to watch for in 2015,” and have since traveled with the US State Department to over 18 countries spreading peace and understanding through music. “Smart and assured, [Della Mae has a] penchant for blurring the lines between bluegrass, folk, soul, and old-time traditions” -The Boston Globe

Advance tickets are only $35 and can be purchased right here online. Concertgoers will be admitted starting at about 7:00pm - please carpool! - the show starts at about 8:00pm. Admission is $10 for children under 12. All proceeds from children's ticket sales will be donated to support music education in Calaveras County.

Tickets will be $40 at the door. Please order now!

Dinner will be available for purchase for $15 (check back later for the menu, we will post it as soon as we decide what it is!) The dinner, Delicious Twisted Oak Wines, popcorn & soft drinks will be available for purchase. Please do not bring other alcoholic beverages. Our license does not permit it.

Seating is "festival style", first come first served - but all locations are good! Bring your own low back "beach" chairs for up-front seating. Click here for everything you might like to know about our concert venue.

Please note: Advance ticket sales end at 4pm on the day of the event - or when sold out. After that time tickets - if available - will be available at the winery after 6:30pm. In any case, all ticket sales are final and there are no refunds.

Originating from different musical backgrounds and states across the US and Canada, each member brings distinct elements that make Della Mae such a beloved band. Together they have a completely original style – sensitive yet assertive, intense yet playful, steeped in tradition yet undeniably current. Versatile instrumentalists and vocalists, they draw from a bottomless well of roots influences to create vibrant original music that conveys expansive musical vision. With timeless lyrical truth-telling and an unmistakably contemporary sensibility, they stand alongside such roots-conscious acts as the Avett Brothers, Punch Brothers, the Lumineers, and Hurray for the Riff Raff.

Through powerful experiences traveling the world together, the group discovered that Della Mae is more than a recording and touring band. Their mission to make a difference in the world emerged, and it became clearer that reflection was required to determine Della Mae’s next move.

In May 2016, after six years of extensive touring (averaging 220 days on the road per year, travel to over 30 countries and almost all US states), Della Mae took a break from the road. Each member took time to regroup, to pursue individual passions and projects, to regain footing, and to reflect on what they had just done – individually and together. This reflection revealed what Della Mae has come to mean to thousands of fans, to young girls worldwide, and to themselves.

Now, Della Mae is eager to embark upon a new chapter together. Della Mae is: Celia Woodsmith—vocals, guitar; Kimber Ludiker—fiddle, vocals; Jenni Lyn Gardner—mandolin, vocals; Courtney Hartman—guitar, banjo, vocals; Zoe Guigueno—bass, vocals.

Previously of the Grammy-winning Turtle Island Quartet, Jeremy Kittel has been a composer-arranger-collaborator for such diverse artists as My Morning Jacket, Yo-Yo Ma & the Silk Road Ensemble, and Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn. He blazes through a Bach violin partita as easily as a Scottish reel, bringing the same intense focus and precision to both. For the last few years the Michigan native, now based in Brooklyn, has been diligently building his own repertoire of music for a wholly original new group.

This Kittel and Co. show features mandolin phenom Josh Pinkham (named “the future of the mandolin” by Mandolin Magazine) and guitarist Quinn Bachand (who's toured with fiddling icons Ashley MacIsaac and Natalie MacMaster).

Event occurs on 06/23/2018 from 08:00 PM to .
