Possible Felony Charges in Hwy 26 DUI Injury Collision

West Point, CA...At about 1:30 AM, on May 25th, Macdiarmid was driving eastbound SR-26 at a high rate of speed. As Macdiarmid came to a curve to the right just west of Higdon Road, he hit his brakes, locking up the wheels of the vehicle he was driving, and went straight off the south side of the roadway where he collided with a cedar tree, knocking it down.

Macdiarmid was not wearing a seatbelt, and was partially ejected from the vehicle, causing major injuries to Macdiarmid. Passenger Lucero was also not wearing her seatbelt and suffered major injuries. Passenger Palmero had her seatbelt on and suffered moderate injuries. All occupants were taken to Kaiser Hospital in South Sacramento by ground ambulance.

Macdiarmid is suspected of being under the influence of alcoholic beverages and may face felony charges for causing major injuries to his passengers.

First of all, don't say string him up when there hasn't been a trial yet. His doctors, and nurses all said that he had a clean test result. I am one of the mothers, and we are all just grateful that they all made it out alive. It was thundering/lightning, and raining that night, and if you know this location, the road is terrible with hairpin curves.
