ATT Stay Off My Phone! ~ Letter To The Editor by Bob Reagan

Murphys, CA...Almost every evening at dinnertime we get an unsolicited call call identified as being from ATT. We have call blocking, but it doesn’t work. We have tried everything we can to stop these annoying calls to no avail. When we received a call today I decided to stay on the line and see if I could get some information. I will not bore you with the details, but after posing a number of leading questions this is what I learned.

The person calling identified himself as Daniel Rigby (he’ll probably be fired for telling me). He was calling from Arizona. He said he was an AT&T employee and then admitted that he wasn’t. He actually works for ATT, which is not a AT&T company. It is an independent business that is employed by AT&T to sell Direct TV and other services.

When I objected to being called he said he could put us on the do not call list if we would only give him our account number and other personal information. I wouldn’t give this scam artist anything.

I tried to Google ATT to learn about the company but could get no information. It is obvious that AT&T does not want you to know about the scam it is perpetrating.

Why would a major corporation like AT&T stoop to such dishonest tactics? If it has to fool people into buying its services, it must be in dire straits.

They should be ashamed.

p.s. Don’t bother trying to contact AT&T customer service. It’s a waste of your time.

Bob Reagan
Murphys CA

In the picture, snapped in the darkness of a Wilton vineyard, Jack Kautz crouches behind a dead buck, smiling as he holds up the animal's head by its freakishly large set of antlers.

It was a buck for the record books with sprawling antlers about an arm's width apart. If Katuz 52, had been had been able to claim it is a official trophy, he could have added it to his long list of accomplishments detailed on the website of his family's Lodi grape growing business, Ironstone Vineyards.

Fits in with their dishonest corporate culture. It was revealed yesterday that AT&T (the real one) in 2017 had given $200,000 to Michael Cohen, Trump's attorney, fixer and Stormy Daniels payer. AT&T says that Cohen provided neither lawyering nor lobbying, so presumably they were just trying to buy access to Trump. And AT&T does have a corporate merger pending before the Feds.

I hope AT&T's BOD investigates both the payments and the harassing phone calls.

BTW, AT&T could never get an intermittent static problem solved on my landline. I must have had technicians out looking into the problem 10 times or more. All the techs were very nice but none solved the problem (which as noted was intermittent so a tough diagnosis I'm sure). I finally gave up and had my landline switched to Comcast. Because I have cable tv and internet with Comcast, they just added it to the package. Net cost is less per month than having tv/internet with Comcast and phone with AT&T. Service has been fine. They don't call me with "offers."

You still have a land line?

They would probably pay you to disconnect from it.

They have been trying to drop the &T part of the company for 20 years.

This whole story is an example of why no one under 40 even answers or makes phone calls. They just text or chat.

A landline will work when the power goes out. A cordless phone doesn't work when the power goes out.
You decide how important a corded phone is the next time the power goes out!

Of course he still has a landline. He is lives in the days of Merita. It's old times! Bob are you really still supporting her?
Saw your name on the list. She is off her rocker and looks stoned most of the time. Just remember you are not safe from her future of marijuana in your backyard. All that land behind forest meadows is perfect for growing.

You might want to try a different search engine, Maybe Google has some kind of a deal with AT&T so that you can't find it on their search engine.
