Search Continues on for Missing Skier Tom Mullarkey

Bear Valley, CA...There was a report of a possible clue yesterday in the search for missing skier Tom Mullarkey in the Bear Valley area. He was reported missing on March 14th. The Alpine County Sheriff's Department and Search & Rescue Teams were deployed to follow up. Unfortunately they were unable to provide closure in this case at this time and the search continues.

We struggle in deciding whether to post updates such as this. Whether it is best for the family and those involved to have it show up in the news again or best for them to continue their search for answers in private.

But in the interest of reminding the public that the search continues and the Alpine County Sheriff's Department and Search and Rescue Teams are still working the case we thought it appropriate to post an update.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with his family and friends as they search for answers and closure.

Editorializing the news, as usual....
This site is a joke.

Just report. Your opinions and feelings should never be mixed with a news report.
You’ve been running this page for over a decade. I’m surprised you haven’t picked up the journalism 101 rules yet.

There are real people and real grieving going on in this case. Thank you pinetree for trying to deliver the news in a kind way

No one is saying feelings aren’t ok. The issue is John Hamilton can’t seem to make up his mind of this site is a poorly written blog/ad space, or a serious news outlet.
        Pick a lane, John!
Editorializing is fine. In an EDITORIAL or opinion piece.
You don’t start off with a straight news report, then tag your squishy feelings of sadness and sympathy on the end.
It makes everything you wrote (including the feelings) look like bullsh*t.

Give it a rest, the facts are there, search teams were called and didn't find anything.

If you think you can do such a damn good job...have at it. Start your own site. It shocks me how some of you people just like to criticize and argue...no matter the subject! You act like a bunch of kids. Why don't you just pack up your ball, skateboard...whatever and go home!!!!

You’re comments are rude to the affected family. Lighten up news nazi. At least the thepinetree is transparent about its news and opinion of news. Better then most outlets.

Cold fish that first poster. Being considerate of a victim's families feelings is the right approach in a small community.

Despite that I generally agree with the sentiment of the first post (this site is a joke due to the ridiculous amount of editorialized and opinion-based 'information' contained herein)...however, that's clearly not the case here...

Local story with plenty of local interest.

Don't ever hesitate to point out John's attempts at providing us with 'fake news'... just learn the difference so you don't sound like such a partisan moron.

TPT does screw up now and then but they don't editorialize. For the most part they post the releases almost verbatim from the sources left and right. So I do see bias in the points of view of the news sources but not from TPT

I do and rules for local news are different than for big cities. In larger markets you can get away with a hard edge. Different in a small town where someone writing a story probably knows the person in the story in real life.

Why do you pompous readers keep pushing thepinetree.net If it's so lame and you're such professional journalists (in your own minds), DON'T open the site. Maybe you should go find a ''SAFE SPACE' so you are not so offended. Unbelievable how you can be so callous while a grieving family is still suffering with the unknown fate of their loved one. Hope your rude, insensitive comments make you feel superior. I will never understand the motivation behind such self -importance. God Bless the family!

Look at any of fuq-tarded weekly poll questions featured on this moronic site and claim with a straight face that an inherent bias does not consistently and visibly exist in the author's tone and inferred claims...

          No editorializing my ass.

Please take the time to learn the definition of a word before making asinine claims as you've done here.

Feelings of white nationalism. It's only because the dude is white. If it was a person of color he'd not be interested. Black, asian, Mexican just take a peek at the comments that are acceptable verses not in selecting each piece of news. Doesn't take a brain surgeon johny. And steven r smith go find a life already, could bump some serious uglies with alice montgomery or some shi.t

As a close family member of Tom Mullarkey, I appreciate any news related to the search. Many of Tom's family members have had to return to our own homes, jobs, school etc... We have every confidence in the people who continue to search for him, but the wait for ANY news is agonizing. We appreciate the fact that the staff acknowledged how difficult this is for all of us, but hope that you please keep posting anything and everything that comes up.
Thank you.
