President Trump at the Governors’ Ball., Signals May Be Willing to push NRA on Gun Issues

Washington, DC...Thank you. Well, I want to start by congratulating our great First Lady on such a beautiful room. I’ve never seen it look so beautiful. Worked very hard. (Applause.) I also want to say that it’s an honor to have so many of our tremendously talented governors with us. This is a yearly tradition, and our crowd gets a little bit larger every year. The governors — we’re going to have a lot of meetings tomorrow. We’re going to have some very important meetings. We’ll be talking about Parkland and the horrible event that took place last week.

I want to thank Governor Rick Scott of Florida. Rick, please stand up. You’re doing a great job. Really great job. (Applause.)

And that will be one of the subjects. And I think we’ll make that first on our list, because we have to end our country of what’s happening with respect to that subject. So we’ll be talking about that and many other things.

The economy is doing phenomenally well. I think you’ll see numbers that get better and better. The cutting of regulation has been an incredible event. People are being able now to build. They’re building and they’re farming and doing lots of things that they were having a very hard time doing.

Governor, I see you shaking your head, “Yes, yes. It’s true.” We’re getting so many compliments. And, you know, really, the regulations have kicked in because I began that right at the beginning of 13 months. I mean, I started right from day one.

The massive tax cuts that we’ve just gotten are now starting to kick in. So congratulations, everybody. (Applause.)

And I think that you’re going to see some numbers coming up over the next year, the likes of which we haven’t seen in our country for many, many years. Your GDP numbers, as you know, the first quarter — or the last quarter for the previous administration — was not good. And if you look at them now, we’re hitting 3’s [percent] routinely, and we had a 3.2. And now, I think, we’re going to exceed that by quite a bit. We’ll find out very shortly. But I can tell you, definitely over the course of the next couple of years we’re going to really be exceeding it.

So I just want to congratulate you. You’re very, very special people. The job you do is really incredible, and it’s not easy. But we’re very proud of you, and we’re very proud to have you here.

And with that, I’d like to ask Brian of Nevada — the Governor who has done an excellent job. But you’re not going to be there that much longer. I’m not so happy about that. (Laughter.) He said he’s had enough for a while. I don’t know what his next thing will be, but whatever it is, we’re with you. You know that.

So come on up and say a couple of words, Brian. Thank you. Thank you, Brian. (Applause.)

This ends with much stricter background checks and a ban on assault rifles. How many shootings happen between now and then is up to our "leaders."

    Hopefully
And the end of the National Racist Assn
Lets get assault rifles out of the U.S.
Like ALL of the rest of the civilized world
    A no brainer
Then our citizens will be safer

More people are killed with knives every year than with guns.

From here on out you are relegated to "Spork Only" status.

Silly sucker, no one with a knife killed 16 highschool kids in5 minutes, or 20 people in a church in2 minutes, or stabbed 500 hundred people in Las Vegas in10 minutes. Never stabbed a bunch of elementary kids at Sandy Hook School.

        Your argument is very misplaced.

More people are killed with auto accidents than knives, what does that prove? More people are killed with prescription drugs than knives. so what? There is no good reason for assault rifles and high capacity mags, other than to kill a lot of people in a few minutes.

Actually the NRA was founded to ensure freed slaves in the south could acquire firearms to protect themselves from the Democrats and their action clubs better known as the KKK.

what has been missing from the discussion is the very real structural difference between urban and rural. As an example while an urban police dept may be able to respond to a shooting within a few minutes (Assuming they are not cowards and actually engage shooters) In a rural setting we are truly on our own. If there is a shooting in West Point , Rail Road Flat or even Hazel Fisher it may be 30 - 45 minutes until law enforcement arrives. At this time everyone will have already been killed. We can either have weapons on campus with guards or staff or just accept the deaths.

You make a good point there. Any report of an active shooter on any of our Up Country campuses would have a response time that would be much too late to neutralize the situation. I just hope that we don't have the crazy violent wackos up here like they do down in the flat land.

That's a sad situation we dont want to face. But what happens when it's the staff that's shooting students and coworkers?

In the Up Country, we're between a rock and a hard place when it comes to this type of situation.

Gov. Brown? Taking care of the Screamers, more important than school safety, you see, some of thes Dopes haven't heard about the urgency to keep schools safe, so Jerry is busy pounding the golden nail into his railroad project or possibly running a backhoe digging multiple tunnels to ship water to So Cal where they ignore water rationing, knowing that Jerry or some other Snowflake will send them water come hell or high water, no problem there! So where is Jerry, always where he shouldn't be! You angry Snowflakes will continue to spite Tump just to throw this state into oblivion! Trump called Ca.'s Bluff and threatened to pull border security out and ICE, oh that is unconstitutional, what you afraid of Jerry, you Resist, push back, but when it comes to being a man with a spine, you we're found not to have one!

Trump is Out of Touch
Posted on: 2018-02-26 12:01:25   By: Anonymous

Everything is wonderful per Trump

Doesn't he read any newspapers? Oh, that's right. He doesn't read anything. Farmers doing well? Not so. Reports are that many are struggling and the only thing keeping them afloat is the ability to borrow more because their land is increasing in value. A bubble waiting to be popped.

Blacks are doing better? Unemployment is almost 2x as high as that of whites. Wages are at least 25% lower than those doing the same job and being Caucasian.

He would have gone into the Parkland school and confronted the gun totting 19 year hold wielding a semi-automatic turned automatic weapon? Really. Cadet Bone-Spurs . . . the man who avoided the draft 4 times? I don't think Trump would have taken on this crazed youth. Easy to say he would have now, but in reality it is very doubtful.

Governors have said they've talked with their teacher communities. Teacher communities and their association have indicated teacher's don't want to carry guns; they don't want guns on school grounds period. Is Trump listening? Nope. He simply brings someone in that supports his position, rather than listening to those impacted and respecting them and their thoughts. Ever heard Trump respond, 'I hear what you are saying. I understand your concerns.' Nope. Doesn't hear what anyone says who doesn't agree with his position.

Just watch his body language in this video. He crosses his arms (protective mannerism) and puts on his pouty face (I don't like you; I want to have my way.) These are common and consistent with Trump.

Things are not great. Things are good in some places but continue to not be good in others. Canada is turning to other countries (e.g. EU in particular) to establish trade agreements. It is one of the few trading partners with which the US has a trade surplus. If Trump continues pushing Trudeau, there are at least 500,000 US jobs at risk.

Are the coal states doing better? Nope. W. Virginia is no better off now than it was 2 years ago. Trump cannot persuade US companies to return to coal. He could not persuade Germany to buy our coal. Due to fewer regulations (complements of Trump) there is now an increase in young coal miners with Black Lung Disease.

Need I go on??? This president is doing harm to us, our economy, our trade and diplomatic relations with most of our trading partners. He's not welcome to visit other countries. Other leaders are cancelling their visits here. Consumers and workers are loosing their protections. What does it take for the light to go on most Trump supporters realizing what is happening here??? Trump is trouble for our government, our people, our country, our position in the world.

Trump said he would run into a school mass shooting with or without a weapon, to stop the shooter. that's mighty big talk for a 70 year old fat man that avoided the draft 5 times, admitted he cant stand the sight of blood, and won't stand up to Putin for cyber invading our democracy
