“Champagne” To Flow At Milliaire Winery...Milliaire Winery & Black Sheep Winery Celebrate President’s Day Weekend Festivities February 16~17th
Murphys, CA ~ Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the winery, champagne will flow at the Milliaire Winery tasting room during the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance’s annual President’s Day event. “If not now, when?” said Liz Millier, who, along with husband Steve and members of their family own, manage and operate the Milliaire Winery in Murphys, CA. “Every time someone would ask about making a sparkling wine, it was always ‘someday’”, said Liz. “We decided that our 25th Anniversary was the time.”....
At the event, Milliaire will be releasing their 2004 Ghirardelli Zinfandel & 2004 Clockspring Zinfandel. Each wine has won many medals and awards, including most recently a double gold for the Ghirardelli 2003 vintage at the SF Chronicle Wine Competition. Accordingly, both these wines have become eagerly anticipated in the last few years, and special discounts on all Milliaire wines will be offered to those attending the Anniversary celebration (adults over 21 only, of course).
Black Sheep Winery will be previewing their new True Frog wine, including a True Frog Red and a True Frog Rose’.
In keeping with the spirit of the President’s Day event, both Milliaire & Black Sheep Wineries will be serving up scrumptious snacks and delectable munchies, including Jana’s Portuguese Meatballs. Wine and food pairings will be previewed at Black Sheep.
With visits from George Washington and Abe Lincoln at both wineries during the afternoon, this is sure to be a most convivial caucus. Festivities begin at 11:00 am and run until 5:00 both Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th.
The Milliaire & Black Sheep tasting rooms are located on the eastern side of Main Street in Murphys CA. To get to Murphys, take CA State Highway 4 east, stay on Highway 4 through Angels Camp, and then continue about 9 miles to Murphys.
