If you are planning on getting your loved ones flowers for Valentines Day here are some basic tricks that can keep your roses alive for a lot longer. Step 1: Remove roses from any packaging as soon as possible and lift them out of the water filled wadding that have been keeping them moist during their journey. Step 2: Fill a clean vase with fresh cold water and add any enclosed flower food (your florist will provide). Step 3: Cut approximately 3cm from the stem ends at an angle, preferably with a sharp knife. Step 4: Remove all leaves below the vase water level. Step 5: Check the water level daily and replace with fresh water and more rose food if necessary. Good luck and have a Happy Valentines Day.
