Jon “Jonathan” Alan Hughes 1954 - 2017

Dorrington, CA...Jon “Jonathan” Alan Hughes, born July 27, 1954 passed away in a car accident late Saturday, December 16th, 2017. He was born in San Diego, CA and lived most of his adult life in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada’s. Jon was an avid sportsman. There was not a sport he did not excel in. Tennis, golf, snow skiing, softball, and horseshoes were all favorites of his. He was a daydreamer and loved story telling. His passion was music and he loved everything about it. Jon was a talented musician and always had a new jingle to share. He had many artistic abilities and loved working with his hands. Many are lucky to have some of his wooden, carved sculptures in their art collections.

Jon is survived by his daughter Jaimee Lombino, granddaughter Zoey, sister Fredda Miller (Fred), brother Marc Hughes (Sandy) and many nieces and nephews who all loved their “Uncle Jon” immensely. They all had playful relationships with him and lovingly called him, “Big Ears.”

He will also be missed by his friends in Dorrington and his motorcycle buddies. Jon was a long time, local fixture in Dorrington and Bear Valley.

A celebration of life will be planned after the holidays. Rest in Peace.

Rest In Peace. What a fitting photo of him waving goodbye to us all .
Adios. May all his relatives and friends find peace.

Knowing Jon has been a blessing. He is one of a kind. I myself will miss his music, art, sense of humor and the sound of his Indian motorcycle. He made life on the mountain better...Rest in Peace.

Grow up. Get over it. I hate Hillary too but this is not the place for your childishness.

You have no clue what your talking about. He was my Uncle, mind your own business and have some respect. Did you mother not teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all? We are mourning the loss of a family member. He was a brother, an uncle, a father and a grandfather not to mention a beloved friend.

I had one of my biggest most wonderful hugs from his hours before the crash. GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY.
