Eighth Anniversary of the Death of Sergey Magnitskiy ~ By Heather Nauert

Washington, DC...We honor the memory of Sergey Magnitskiy, who died on November 16, 2009, while in custody in a Moscow prison. An investigation by Russia's Presidential Human Rights Council found that Magnitskiy had been severely beaten in prison, and members of the Council said his death resulted from beatings and torture by police officials.

Magnitskiy uncovered a vast tax fraud scheme perpetrated by Russian officials, and was imprisoned by those whose crimes he uncovered. Russian authorities have failed to hold those responsible for his death accountable and instead, in recent months appear to be increasingly propagating conspiracy theories designed to distract attention from the crime.

In honor of Magnitskiy’s extraordinary courage, we continue to support efforts to hold those responsible for his treatment in prison and subsequent death accountable, including implementation of the Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 2012.

FUN FACT:

Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, claimed that her meeting with Donald Trump Junior was about 'adoptions'... it was not.

The meeting WAS about securing repeal of the Magnitsky act.

    Fun Fact:

The burn ban has been lifted, but there's a new twist, called zone 1 below 3,500 ft and zone 2 above 3500 feet.

A question below has been brought to our attention, so we sent off to ask our Governor Brown

What if you live Exactly at 3500 feet?

Burning Ban has now been reinstated until all pertinent questions have an appropriate answer

Another woman went on national television this week to press her case of sexual assault by a powerful figure. But the accused was not Roy S. Moore or Harvey Weinstein or Donald J. Trump. It was Bill Clinton.
