Jamestown Resident Arrested for Brandishing a Knife

Angels Camp, CA...On November 11, 2017 at approximately 11:25 PM, officers from the Angels Camp Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Stanislaus Avenue for a report of a male brandishing a knife. Witnesses advised that 20 year old Jamestown resident, J.Carroll Troche, violated an existing retraining order when he entered the home of the victim and became violent for no apparent reason. He began brandishing a knife, threatening the victim and others present. An altercation occurred, and the victim received minor injuries and was treated on scene.

Responding CCSO deputies began a search of the area for the suspect, who fled out a bedroom window as officers were arriving. A deputy checking the ar ea located a male that matched the description of the suspect, near San Joaquin Avenue and the gated entrance to the Big Horn Mobile Home Park. The subject ran into the mobile home park and the deputy gave chase, losing sight of the subject inside the mobile home park. A K-9 track was started, which led to the open field between the mobile home park and the Altaville Post Office, and the track ultimately led back toward the apartment complex.

Other officers in the area were notified that it was likely the suspect was heading back toward the apartment complex, which is where he was apprehended when he entered the apartment through the same window it is believed he initially fled through.

The suspect offered minor resistance while he was taken into custody, and continued to threaten the victim and witnesses in the presence of officers.

Troche was arrested and transported to the Calaveras County Jail. While being booked in to the Calaveras County Jail, Jail staff located a bag containing 2 grams of marijuana in his pocket.

Troche was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for the following charges:

245(a)(1) PC - Assault with a Deadly Weapon
273.5(a) PC - Domestic Violence
422(a)PC - Criminal Threats
4573 PC - Smuggle Controlled Substance Into Jail
273.6(b) PC - Violate Protective Order-Resulting in Injury
417(a)(1) PC - Threatening with a Weapon
148(a)(1)PC- Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer
