Thanks for all the vets and those currently serving. It is interesting that there are not pictures of the plaques and stones honoring those who lost their lives in many conflicts. Specifically the beautiful marker at the county seat. Of course the condition of the flagpoles and the overall campus would put all to shame.
Les (aka skidmark to the libs)

Thanks to those that put the event together, and for the many that showed up to pay tribute! I would like to know what is taught to our county kids about Veterans Day! They and the teacher's all got Friday off, they should know why! Just wondering! Tom Christian

If you listened to the essays by the 5th grade students from Michelson School, you would have realized that the schools do instruct the kids on Veterans Day and what it means to be a Veteran.

At Michelson, we honor and thank veterans every year, for the past 20 years with a special school wide flag ceremony, pledge of allegiance and gathering including many local veterans. Tom, we would LOVE for you to join us and see how we share the importance of the day, and honoring our veterans at Michelson!

Any truth to the news stories I saw last week, one being a California Legislator wants the American Flag banned in our State, and secondly, the Hard core Anti -War protestors are pushing to have a holiday in their name, and also a Memorial to recognize their so called efforts to support and end the Vietnam war! These. Are the same people that marched with signs"BRING THE TROOPS HOME" so that we could be pissed on by them then, and currently, as they always felt superior to us draftees! I hope you get your memorial, I will be the first one their to urinate on your monument!

A Beautiful Day

It looks like a beautiful day for honoring our Veterans.
I see familiar faces no longer present.
One day should be 7 days in which we honor each and every one of our Calaveras Veteran's.
Thank you for your service.
See you next year.
L.B.
