CUSD Elementary Schools Reopening on Monday, October 23

San Andreas, CA...All elementary school sites will be open effective Monday, October 23. There will be sufficient staffing in place, using CUSD staff as well as substitute staff, to provide a safe, secure and productive learning environment for our elementary students. We are also working to re-open our middle school and high schools as soon as possible, once we can secure sufficient staff to do so.

We are also working to set up further negotiations with our teachers union to continue our efforts to resolve the contractual issues we are dealing with and have them return to their classrooms. This remains a priority.

Communications will be issued as our status and direction changes in these areas.

Thank you

Mark Campbell
Superintendent
Calaveras Unified School District

Would you let your child be taught by a SCAB substitute, who has not gone through the same background checks? If they have morals so low that they'll work as SCABS, what kind of morals will they teach your kids?

Actually subs (me included) go through the same background checks as all the other people who work for the district. However, you are correct, subs only have to pass an easy CBEST examen and have a college degree in anything to be a sub. No teacher training at all. So absolutely, this is a disservice to the kids of this district.

Still no denying that if you cross the line, you are forever tainted as a SCAB - and that stink will follow you forever.

Better than you. All you teach is propaganda and deviant sex play.

Break the union, lock them out.

Of course they would, like father, like son.
Now they won't need an excuse in life as why they're stuck in a
dead end job just like dad was.
It was nice seeing some of the caring parents out there with you all.
It seems that motto, Make everyday matter is just certainly nothing but fertilizer, isn't it?

Good luck in your cause.

Whining about money

Should have went to college for something that paid better. You as a teacher should have known the pay going into that line of work. I hear McDonald's will hire you, maybe then you could teach the employees there how to count.

Joke

What a joke if these so called educators really care about putting the kids first they sure as heck wouldn’t be on strike beacause of their pay check. They are bold faced liars and using the kids as pawns to pad their pocket books. And they talk about Campbell being despicable a bit of pot calling kettle black.
