What bunch of angry birds.

None of them would last a shift as a waitress.

And we let them into our classrooms?

Send them back to their safe space - the bedroom!

They won’t be waitresses because they have COLLEGE DEGREES.
So many comments from sour grapes who don’t get why that high school diploma doesn’t get you anything over minimum wage.

Like all the other losers that never graduated from college like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Dell, Larry Ellison and more.

Yep without those 7 years at Berkeley for that BS degree we are screwed

So Gates, Jobs, etc didn't work for success? They won the lotto? So having the guts to try and build companies is now winning the lotto? I sure hope the commenter wasn't one of the striking teachers. Sadly though it probably was

Do the millions of others not work for success? I am sure you aren't one. Be the problem and not the solution is what your comments stand for.

H.S. don't enable many opportunities as they have been watered down and handed out like candy.

Many waitresses are a lot smarter than you think.

I'd take on 30 mental midgets any day before taking on 30 hungry growlers at lunch time!

i'll bet if they went by the merit system to give raises yearly none of these or other teachers would pass because the merit system would require their classes and students to hold a B+ average each quarter. how many teachers do you sincerely think would get raises then? ya think about it. other venues in the working world use the merit system why not teachers.

I support our teachers....they work hard, they care about our children educationally and personally, they use their own money to buy needed supplies for their students, they continue to educate themselves to keep up with new research and new standards, they build an environment that embraces children, parents and learning and they deserve a raise.

I never understand why many of the citizens of Calaveras who comment in the Pine Tree are so hateful and critical. Get a life, get a heart, thank a teacher!

I'm with you. Thank you, teachers.

If those leaving all the hostile comments are parents of school age children, then the teachers certainly have a tough job. Imagine trying to teach a child who hears from his/her parents nothing but disdain for learning and teachers.

Oh my, listen to the ignorant little man, saying back to the bedroom to the teachers.
You have noticed little ignorant boy, that men are also teachers? Or are those the ones you want back in your bedroom?
I guess having women laugh at you in the bedroom was too much. Don't worry little man, society in whole does not care that you have switched sides, but society is getting sick and tired of little ignorant bullies as yourself.

Reduce class size now! Zero students per teacher.

Give the people vouchers and let them pick their "teachers".

Great idea. We already have a president and political party that wants to choose their own facts. Now we can have those same people choose their own teachers to teach their children those made up "own facts."

We can all live in the fantasy land where making America Great means making the rich richer. Where healthcare can be made terrific for less money, unless, of course, you're one of the people who lose coverage entirely. Where policy is made daily by tweet and changed to the opposite policy the next day, also by tweet. Where nuclear war is no longer avoided but actively sought. Where we are alternately laughed at and pitied by the rest of the world. Where the office of the presidency is daily disgraced by the man currently occupying it. Yes, all of this can be accomplished by getting rid of the damn trained teachers. Then the whole country can be as messed up and ignorant as Trump and his supporters.

What is with all the sunglasses?

Afraid of what your neighbors will think?

Afraid of angering those who pay your salaries?

Or just afraid of being called out as a bunch of losers that you are?

Get the Facts First Before Speaking
Posted on: 2017-10-19 21:59:27   By: Anonymous

Before weighing in and making assumptions about the people protesting, get the facts and determine if their demands are applicable or not. What is the current class size? What do they want it reduced to? How do they expect to cover the increase in labor costs associated with adding more albeit smaller classes? As for their wages, what are they currently being paid? What’s included in the total compensation for their service? Is it a living wage in comparison to the local cost of living? If so, why do they feel a 6 percent raise is necessary?

The time of absolutes is fading fast. People have been able to work with each other in the past, the present is no different. Only now social rhetoric is an all-or-nothing perspective. Making assumptions offhand only shows immaturity of thought. Get the facts and make an educated decision on your position. After all, it’s for the education of today’s and future children.
