Collision on Hwy 132 Takes Life of Sarah Nicole Cahoon, 28 from Coulterville

Coulterville, CA...On October 17, 2017, at approximately 6:18 pm, 28 year old Coulterville resident, Sarah Cahoon, was driving a 2002 Mazda MPV, eastbound on State Route 132, west of Piney Creek Road, at an unknown speed. Cahoon allowed her vehicle to travel over the right shoulder and up an embankment south of the road edge. Cahoon's vehicle then overturned multiple times back onto the roadway. Cahoon was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled over Cahoon before it came to rest back on its wheels. Cahoon was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. 5 year old passenger, Michael Boesen, was also not wearing a seat belt and was thrown approximately 50 feet from the vehicle. Boesen was flown to UC Davis to be treated for major injuries. 9 year old passenger, Jasmin Povio, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and only sustained minor injuries.

This collision is still under investigation. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor, autopsy pending.

Out thoughts and prayers are with the injured and family and friends of the deceased

Editor's Note: Please be kind and considerate of the family of the deceased. Yes, in many ways this collision is a sad reminder for seat belt use. But for the grace of God this could be one of our family members as well

Being kind and considerate is true but what if she hit one of your family members, this was not just an unfortunate accident but also pure stupidity and thoughtless actions on the part of the driver that caused this. At least put the drink down and leave the Kids at home

No it’s not. Wearing a seatbelt and not drinking and driving had NOTHING to do with the grace of God.

She made a mistake and paid for that mistake with her life so she has at least earned kindness in comments

Not a mistake. Defiance on her part. Gross criminal negligence for not taking simple steps to keep the kids out of harms way.

Hope they lock her up a long time so she has time to reflect on her misdeeds.

Wow, you are a dumb one.
She's been locked up for eternity.
Reading and comprehending go a long way
Seat belts work, always, always, make sure children use them.
              Prof was in this accident.
I hope the kids recover quickly physically, and mentally

No seatbelts for at least two and CHP indicated impairment may have been a factor. Tragic but hopefully someone learns from this.

Very Sad for all involved but clearly stupidity was a big part of the reason here as well

I don't want to be rude, but were both children hers? Everyone has different last names.

Yes driving under the influence of alcohol caused the accident
But please also note "seat belts" Use your seat belts, especially on your kids at the very least.
If you're foolish enough not to use them, that your decision, but at least TEACH YOUR KIDS TO USE THEM. THEY WORK

Being kind would b or should b just human nature...but obviously for some it's not...Let me remind u alcohol COULD have player a part in this PENDING autopsy...according to the family that spoke with her last she had 1 beer...no 1 said whether she had "opened" containers in the car...this young beautiful woman loved her children (yes both we're hers regardless of the last names) & she fought a long & hard battle to get to where she was today...she overcame very hard opsticles that many of us have not been able to do ourselves...& She became that normal working member of society & took great care of her children that she fought so hard for...what happened is so unbelievable to me still cuz her seatbelt & the kids seatbelts we're something she was on top of but what happened this night was out of the ordinary for her...Sarah wasnt an alcoholic bad mom...she was a beautiful ray of sunlight that lit up a room the second she walked in & her smile her beauty inside & out & her personality that u couldn't help but to love along with a great sense of humor...she loved to make ppl laugh & she loved her family unconditionally...she is now a beautiful angel in heaven who from there will still see her children thru this...Sarah I love u my beautiful baby girl ...with such a heavy heart I say RIP my love xoxo
