Regulate

A ban is an already failed plan.

Who are these idiots making these decsisions? It wasn't even a one sided debate. The bansters are fear mongers and nothing more. I'd have to look again for a single fact from that crowd. A bunch of cry baby transplants from the bay/valley. Who are they trying to dictate morals to the majority of calaveras's real citizens?!

Judging by the pictures, there wasn't a dozen residents attending the meeting. Already there are 22 comments here complaining.
Where were all of you folks during the Planning Commission Meeting?

      DO SOMETHING or quitcher bitchen.

First, if you watch the video you will see far more the a dozen public commenters. Second, this meeting was held during working hours; I was at work and suspect most people in the county were doing the same. Finally, showing up at the meeting is not the only way to be involved; I choose to comment on the EIR in writing during the public comment period.

Don't ban!!

I hope these folks do the right thing and put forth some resonable regulations. There is no money to boot them all. They are paying us money in taxes and increased business. And it really isn't that bad these die hard bansters lie and spread fear.

You'll have to put 4 of them in the box before you add the aluminum oxides, and it also helps if the eggs are at room temperature.

True resident here for past decade.

I want cannabis as a part of this county's economy.

Please stop misrepresenting the residents' true views...

Forty year true resident. Legislate them, tax the hell out of them, enforce the laws strictly. Don't ban it, it'll be even worse than it is now.

Such foolishness from a cash-strapped county that can't even afford to keep its roads in shape. A unique financial opportunity for a poor county like Calaveras in the form of regulated Cannabis. The Sheriff's Department will be the only department getting more money and equipment to enforce an impossible ban.

The sheriff is full of s--t. He wants to protect all residents and cant even come clean with his plan for 35 grows per year. No funding period after the ban but he won't acknowledge he won't have funds. He was appointed but won't be elected in the next round. The one grant he received is 30000 but only on federal land. I cant stand these growers but without regulation, we will be re introduced to this next year and much more will move in and start up

Scum all around us and 15 times the traffic we used to have. So many of these growers have very nasty attitudes and their guests, employees and customer are not any better.
      WE DON'T WANT COMMERCIAL POT.
Do dealers pay employee taxes and deduct taxes from their employees paychecks, I mean cash, I guess you could write on the bills how much they should send the IRS and the state??? I am sure all good dealers have accounting and payroll departments, right???

I invite you to review part two of the video posted above. Specifically the comments made by Rolling Hills book keeping. The women speaking for that accounting firm provided specific figures for local and income taxes paid for 100+ grower clients she does the books for. Are you calling her a liar?

Speak for yourself, not others. I was born in San Andreas, currently own and live, and work in Murphys. I've lived here all my life except a few years in my 20s to pursue an education. I care about this community as much or more then anyone claiming a ban is best. I want regulation and the taxes that go with it.

Ditto to above. A true resident here as well. And guess what? Many of the lovely restaurants and charming businesses that you enjoy have only survived by planting a row or two of Cannabis. Same goes for many ranchers here four even five generations. That's the "true" story.

A Ban?
Posted on: 2017-09-29 12:32:49   By: Anonymous

If you have lived her a long time you know illegal grows have been rampant for many years and exploded around the time a quarter of the county burned to the ground.

Our sheriff will have no funding to enforce a ban, but maybe that is what little Billie and Davie want. Illegal grows?

Lets not forget the lawsuits about to be filed the moment a ban is passed by the BOS. Good luck Calaveras, your wild ride has just begun and you will have this legislative body to thank unless the BOS grows a real brain.

The grows, without legislation because of legal tug of wars, are going to exist for YEARS before anything concrete happens. That my friends will be the downfall of Calaveras County.
