Time For UN to Draw a Red Line Around North Korea? ~ By John Hamilton

Pyongyang, North Korea....Now that North Korea has successfully tested a Hydrogen Bomb is it time to draw a meaningful "Red Line" around the entire country? With shooting a missile over Japan last week and with this week's H-Bomb test the window for the international community to act short of military options may be closing. Since they have shown they have no interest in being part of a peaceful community of nations how about how about this as a framework for a UN Resolution?

The world draws a line at the international waters line off their coasts that if they shoot or launch missiles into international waters or over another country's borders we take measures to shoot them down as soon as the cross the line.

Basically remove North Korea's rights to even test missiles or conduct any military actions or tests in international waters.

Basically we tell them you have the right to exist within your borders but if you venture beyond this in any meaningful way you by your actions have forfeited the right to exist as a country in it's current form. If they launch, shoot them down shortly after launch and if they persist they have chosen by their actions to give the UN mandate and the right to eliminate any offensive capabilities North Korea may have.

Tell them in no uncertain terms any action beyond their borders and into international territory will basically trigger "suicide by cop" of North Korea.

We may not be technically be capable of completely sealing their airspace that but that should be our goal to hermetically isolate them from the world and they become country non grata. Any missile or even military aircraft launched into international waters is deemed an act of war against the international community.

Yep, seal their borders, if they come across they have given up the right to exist. Not by our choice but theirs.

The sooner the better. They have been a threat since 1951. Put 100 F-35 bombers on men, women and children. ELIMATE all of them. If they chose to be part of that, plenty of notice. GO MATTIS, Mr. Trump for a second term for sure. He will make America great once again. Looking forward to his, second term.........

Good point. At least supporters of Kim have the excuse that they can't get honest news. Supporters of Trump have no excuse. They are willfully misinformed.

Wait, wait. Trump said one more missile launch would cause us to rain down fire and fury on N. Korea. N. Korea not only fired another missile, they shot it OVER Japan to a distance equal to that needed to reach Guam if fired more to the south. Trump tweeted his displeasure.

Then N. Korea set off their strongest nuclear bomb yet and said they could fit it on a missile. Were they expecting FIRE AND FURY? Apparently not. Did they even get a tweet?

Lying conservatives say Obama laid down a red line on Syria and then did nothing when they crossed it by using nerve gas. But, in fact, Obama and Kerry worked with Russia and the international community to remove all (almost all?) of Syria's chemical weapons. Obama also asked Congress to approve use of military force against Syria (as required by the Constitution) but Republicans in Congress never brought it up.

In Trump we have a WIMP who lies continuously. In Republicans we have hypocrites.

N. Korea sees Trump as the blowhard who thinks he's a tough bully. The one everyone makes fun of behind his back. They just keep poking him with their stick because they know he has lost respect at home and abroad. This is not good for anyone, because, while Trump is a blowhard who few respect, he does control our military. Instead of no-drama-Obama we now have no-self-control-Trump trying to deal with this problem.

Wait, wait, there ain't no more waiting..."eliminate" that sadistic country once and for all. Let South Korea take over and unity is accomplished. Just like here in the U.S.A. Join in unity or, go away. Trump for two terms. Like it or go away.....

So we are apparently readying a new round of even more severe sanctions. Someone please explain why sanctions were not put at maximum levels years ago. Are they saving some for the next time Kim calls Trump's bluff so Trump still has something to do in retaliation that he can actually do without annihilating S. Korea.

No glory for anyone in this history.

So The US Is A peaceful Nation?
Posted on: 2017-09-03 16:02:27   By: Anonymous
John- you need to reexamine the history of the US.
It is full of wars for US special "interests" aka American corporations.

If you buy the BS of a peaceful America, whose #1 GDP is war material sales, you ned to look again.

The America is peace BS is just that.

Why do you think the world has Isis, and other radical groups wanting to attack the US?

Because the US has killed so many of their people.

      it's called Blow Back.

The US could of stopped N Korea many years ago, but the US war machine stopped any treaty negotiations.

Now with Mueller finding so much to nail Dump , the public needs to stop Dump from starting a war with N Korea.

As Rex Tillerson said "negotiations are the only way with N Korea"

Only a sane mind which are few in this administration will stop the child mess Dump is.

Secretary Mattis Statement On North Korea At Whitehouse

Washington, DC...We had a small group national security meeting today with the President and the Vice President about the latest provocation on the Korean peninsula. We have many military options, and the President wanted to be briefed on each one of them. We made clear that we have the ability to defend ourselves and our allies – South Korea and Japan – from any attack. And our commitments among the allies are ironclad.

Any threat to the United States, or its territories – including Guam – or our allies will be met with a massive military response – a response both effective and overwhelming.

Kim Jong Un should take heed the United Nations Security Council’s unified voice – all members unanimously agreed on the threat North Korea poses, and they remain unanimous in their commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula – because we are not looking to the total annihilation of a country – namely, North Korea.

But, as I said, we have many options to do so. Thank you very much.

There are NO good options for N. Korea. There is nothing we can do militarily that will spare Seoul, S. Korea from a massive artillery attack from N. Korea. That will kill 100s of thousands of S. Koreans and a lot of US military personnel. So let's not pretend there are good military solutions. All of you old fart chest thumpers should put your false teeth on the night stand and take a nap.

Now it may be that we have got to bite that painful bullet and make a military attack on N. Korea. It does appear that Trump has lost all credibility with N. Korea, China, Russia, Japan and S. Korea, so threats are not going to work IMO. This is what happens when we have a man-child President who neither understands the problem nor the possible solutions but sees every problem as if he were a 4th grade bully confronting a 2nd grader. Well, in this case the 2nd grader has his very big dad (China) standing right behind him and, to make things worse, the 2nd grader is nuts and has an army of a million 2nd graders ready to pound the 4th grade bully to a pulp. Trump has probably already pee'd himself.

Let's hope Mattis has a better idea up his sleeve than we have seen so far. And let's hope that before they gave Trump dry underwear, the adults (Mattis, Kelly, McMaster) told him to SHUT UP. Stupid, inexperienced, and braggart is not a set of traits likely to scare the man-child in N. Korea.

Chest thumpers should do a little research on the size of the N. Korean military and the availability of US troops given that we have come close to breaking the force in Iraq and Afghanistan (thanks, W). Even conservative writers like Bob Woodward have documented the damage done to US readiness by repeated deployments to the Middle East. Educate yourself and your chest will be less bruised.

We should all be honored and blessed to have Mr.Trump lead our country. It will take "two" terms for him to clean up the mess our previous leader made. He has eliminated the weak and installed streangth in our cabinets. Please, tip your hat and join in to make our nation great once's acceptable to admit your stupidity otherwise!!!!!

Trump has made the US disrespected. Not again, but for the first time in a very long time. He has no idea how to get other countries to cooperate with the US. In fact, countries that would normally look to the US for leadership are now looking elsewhere. To China. To Germany. Or just to themselves.

Trump has made the US a laughingstock. Break out of your Fox News bubble and read the foreign press.

As for a second term, Trump will be impeached long before 2020. Even the news that is public proves obstruction of justice, and it is certain Mueller has much more that is not public. The question is whether it will take Pence down too.

It's hard to read with so many typos. Please proof read or get an editor.
Here are a few....

"peaceful community of nations how about how about this as a framework for a UN Resolution? "

"take measures to shoot them down as soon as the cross the line."

"the right to exist as a country in it's current form. (Says "it is" )"

"We may not be technically be capable of completely sealing their airspace"

"sealing their airspace that but that should be our goal to hermetically isolate them from the world"

(And don't even get me started on proper use of punctuation.)

Aside from the mechanics, the content of the article is shocking. You are advocating USA killing women and children and innocent citizens, which our past presidents had the constraint and compassion to do their best to avoid. "Suicide by cop" as you say, is OK for Kim, but the innocent families? You are speaking of annihilating a country? (Cease to exist)
Are you aware what you'd be starting? With all their underground bunkers of weapons, you'd be unleashing hundreds of missles on our territory. Is the US prepared for that?
